Race 3: SEARCHLIGHT made a tidy reappearance at Rotorua last month, then was just edged out at the same track earlier this month. Fitter now, and pushing out in distance, can win this today, $3.10 at the mo.
BET: 5 unit win
Race 8: TU MEKE POTAE topped off four placings in his first four runs with a win here five weeks ago. Now the penny’s dropped, he can go on from there, especially with Opie onboard today. Up in class of course, but the $10 on offer looks generous.

Race 8: FIGHTING ARROW breezed past them back on Nov to win by 7 lengths at Geelong. Wasn’t quite up the the rise in grade at MV next time out, but drops back to BM64 today and hops up in distance. Thornton sticks, and he’ll run fav at around $2.30, but will have a bit of opposition from the Yendall-ridden Laughing Grizzley. They look the likely quinella.
BET: 5 units win FA, 10 unit quinella the two.
