Couple of crackers…
Couple of crackers yesterday, pride of place going to Scissor Step (6 unit win) for the grittiest of wins in a small filed, where no-one was tipping him at all. Surged home late to get up at a very nice $8 for us, getting back to his good early career form on resuming.
Remedies (4 units ew) did awfully well to run second to a well-fancied fav, also getting back to form after needing her resuming run, $3.80 the place.

Dropping in grade somewhat and likes it here. Has won at G3, gets the in-form Kozzi up top and is a good chance in this small but competitive field at $5.

Lightly-raced filly resuming from a 4 month spell. Has been well-supported in her four runs and kicks off today with Harry up top and supported early as $3.70 second fav. Like her chances…

Went in the back Feb last year as a next-timer and duly obliged before heading to the paddock. Resumed in July with a couple of tidy placings in BM64 before fading after being on the pace, and went for another spell. Resumes today from another long spell, 218 days, but warmed up with a trial last month. He’s an EW shot at $13, might need the run but one to watch going forward…

Back to the mile today, surprising given his get-back stats and potential good finish. We’ve said in before, needs to be closer to the pace to be a win chance, but still rates an EW bet as $16 outsider, watch late…

Grafton, 4
Caught the eye resuming here in October after 446 days away, winning from dead last at odds. A similar finish at Taree produced a third before stepping up in grade at Randwick under McEvoy over longer. Couldn’t maintain his run over longer a month ago here when poorly drawn but has good stats on the track nevertheless, drops in grade, winning jockey back up top, and they have him as early fav at $3.80/$1.80 in a pretty open event.
