Boom! Boom!

Two very different but cracking winners for us yesterday!!

First up was Blacklist, noted three weeks ago with an eye-catching burst after seemingly trapped on the run-in. Up in grade and up in distance, so had to be managed in the run, and boy did Ethan Brown do a great job, hitting the front on the home turn and fending off all-comers, a super win as he was well-supported into $2.30 favouritism.

Next was Nine Ball, and what a win this was! The win to clear maiden ranks two weeks ago could not have been more impressive when she went in the book. She jumped well back but produced an astonishing burst of acceleration as she eventually walked in in a big field at Pinjarra. Back in distance yesterday, and we were a touch apprehensive that she’d get too far back over the shorter distance, and up until the final bend, that seemed to be the case when she was dead last, but she produced another Winx-like finish under CJP to win by over a length, a truly amazing winner at $3.90! We were all over her at that price, which you’re unlikely to see again in the near future… Watch the clip below, trainer gives a nice insight…

A second, a third and a fourth from our others, not a bad day on the punt!

We had two from the book today but a late scratching due to the heavy track at Moe has reduced us to a one-hit wonder Thursday…

One-hit wonder Thursday…

Dillinger

Mackay R2

3:45pm

He was trucking along OK until his most recent run a month ago at Townsville where he ran a very ordinary last of sixteen. Better than that, gets the firm footing he likes and back to the mile where he’s 5:2-1-0. Jockey yet to make an impact on him, and this fav looks very tough to beat, but keep him safe at $11…
