We drew a blank yesterday with some big odds tips, but never mind, we’re back in the saddle today with nine from the book, and some very promising EW shots!

Interesting race, with the fav in Front Page dropping many grades to have a go at winning this race again, as he did last year. He’ll be hard to beat and goes in all combos, but our lad has been in fine fettle, winning his last two races last prep, and returns today after a 6 month break under Penza, and has trialled up nicely ahead of this and has good first-up stats…. He’s the $5 second fav.

Warrnambool, 4
She was in sterling form mid-last year, winning 5 out of 9, and she’ll relish this heavy ground and certainly the drop in grade as she’s done little in her last four runs on dry tracks… Good stats at this distance and under this jockey, could be a sleeper at $9…

Last three runs have been solid, and he looks ready to peak today over the extra distance. Will go close in this and looks a cert EW wager at $5.50.

Looked uncomfortable on the poly track last time out, so we’ll forgive him that one… Previous two this prep were creditable, and he gets out to a distance he’s won at before. $4.20 on offer.

Resumes after 4 months in the paddock and has warmed up for this with a recent trial. Romped in at Ipswich in December and can return with a win here in an open betting race, $4.20 at the mo.

Pinjarra, 5
Rarely far away, drops in grade, gets S Parnham up top and back to 1000m ticks a lot of boxes for this front-running filly, win chance in this small field at $3.70

C Parnham retains the ride here, on a horse that is consistently thereabouts without winning, only one in 27 so far. He can boot him home as the $2.70 fav.

Been a while between drinks, and apart from a second at $21 for us four back, hasn’t looked like providing a return. Interest bet only as the $23 outsider…

Got up nicely for us at Tamworth two weeks back after a string of places here previously. Winning jock sticks, and he might just have turned the corner… Will need to be more on the pace in this dash for cash, but watch for him late as a $6 shot…
