Back to the drawing board as we drew a blank yesterday, but with seven from the book, and some decent prospects on show, we are confident of getting back in the winner’s circle today!

Resuming from a 75 day spell, though trialled up OK a week ago. Hasn’t shown much in the way of form this year, but gets DRT onboard, likes the heavy (2:1-1), has won first up, and is 3:1-1 on the track, so worth an EW punt at $6.50 in this.

Bounced back to from a month ago after a previous race disappointment, running a close second under Callaway, who sticks today. Can go one better here, placed 2 from 2 on heavy and has won this T&D. Open race, I like him at $8 in this…

His T&D stats are excellent, and Callaway also gets the ride on this one today, though his form is a little intermittent. Worried about the heavy track (2:0-0), maybe a place at $13.

Got back and stayed there 16 days ago at this T&D, though not too far away… Mixes his form somewhat but does get his fav jockey in Chelsea Jokic back onboard (4:1-2), so maybe he can run a place, EW at $41.

Screamed home down the fence here late Feb so the push out to the 1400m looked fine two weeks later, but he just couldn’t see it out, running third, also here. Back to 1300m in April, again here, and that did the trick, screaming home from dead last to get up under his fav jockey, who stuck 21 days ago, and he didn’t disappoint.
Butler had him perched handily in midfield and as they came round the final bend he just shuffled him into the gap and he showed a devastating change of gears to cruise home for us at $4.30, to the obvious delight on Ash’s face as he saluted! Great stats, rises in grade again, but the way he won last time suggests he’s up for this, $8 looks super value!

Early career form was promising but has obviously had some issues as he returns form a 434 day layoff. Trialled up with a second three weeks ago under Chelsea, and he must be in good order as they have him $2 fav here.

Jumped to BM70 a month ago at Sandown-Lakeside and surprisingly went well for second, so not sure what happened on the Hillside track 15 days ago as he never got into the race. Goes better when he’s on-pace, so hoping the apprentice gets those instructions today as he drops back to the BM64. EW chance at $24.
