Wham, bam, thank you m’am, a grand day on the punt!!
Five out of five made the frame for us yesterday, three winners and two seconds, which we jammed into a place multi, and together with out individual bets, ensured a nett profit of just over a grand!!
Standout winner was I Am The Empire, we spruiked him as the sleeper in the race, and though he’d be ridden with a bit of restraint jumping up to the 2400m, but he defied all that logic to lead all the way and win at a staggering $26.30!!
Jack In The box bided his time, then hot the front 300m out and went on to score at $9.00.
The other winner was The Years, fitter and ready to win we thought, and we were right, getting up at $3.40.
It really could have been five from five as Matriarch Rose and Butternut Princess ran very close seconds…
With Scone abandoned already, it’s back to two from the book today, one that will go very close, the other a mad outsider’s chance…

Former Kiwi now plying her trade in Aussie, and finding it somewhat tougher. Resumed two weeks ago from a three month break, suspected she’d need the run, and so it proved, but one of her two wins came second up and at this distance. Jett Stanley is a nice booking up top, and after yesterday’s big priced winners, we are certainly not discounting her today, even at $46!

Spotted her after a trial at Pak in April last year, with trainer Peter Moody spruiking her up, suggesting she was gonna break maidens soon, rating her as a city class filly. She ran second, if a touch greenly, but we fancied more to come, and she resumed in December spell after some good jump-outs, and she duly obliged with a dominant display. Backed that up on NY Day, swooping late to win for us. Finished well for third later in the month then ran a very close seventh up in the BM70 grade in early Feb before heading to the paddock. Resumed from a 140 daybreak in late June but faded late. That did her the world of good she ran n improver’s second at Gold Coast 19 days ago, and gets a jockey upgrade here as she drops a touch in class and distance. Shapes as a major player in this at $4…
