Places galore!!

A couple of scratchings left us with nine tips, and while we couldn’t find a winner, we found three seconds and two thirds…

Seconds included Appin Girl ($2.70), Mombasa ($3.60) and The Inevitable ($1.50), with thirds for Midnight In Tokyo ($1.50) and Talisker ($1.90).

TMS is racing in fine form, has been finishing on well and the push out to 2200m should suit, $2.80 fav.

FS goes well here, gets Sam Spratt up top, EW shot at $10.

IMS back up to a better distance, maybe a place as $23 outsider.

Puketiro, Idyllic

Otaki R5

Puketiro resumes, stats are good, distance (5:3-0) and first-up (3:3-0) and gets Billy onboard, expecting her to go well, $5 on offer.

Idyllic resumed from a six month break 18 days ago, previous form was very consistent and she’d trialled up with two wins and gave them something to chase down and won well. Kate sticks, up to 1200m but rates a chance on that win at $8 here.

Resumes from a long spell (264 days), has gone well first-up and has trialled up a few times. Big class drop from the G1 Bonecrusher, rates a chance at $7.

Superb finish to win on debut after two good trials, $7 here, worth following up…

Andersons Bay, Five Bells

AB Needed the resuming run, he’s still a bit green, EW at $18.

FB has a wicked finish, and won two back, prefer over longer but can’t rule her out, $19.

The Light Fandango

Promising mare who’s had some issues but was noted on debut with a nice win back in August 2022 before running ninth a few weeks later before heading to the paddock. Resumed after 6 months with a good second before once again needing a break. Resumed again 24 days ago after a mammoth 610 days away, trialled up previously, worth keeping safe at $10.

Mychyna

Ballina R7

There’s a win in this mare, has missed due to scratchings and abandoned meeting recently, EW for sure here at $6.
