A sad day…
An absolute tragedy yesterday, as one of our favourite racehorses, our little Tassy pocket-rocket The Inevitable had to be euthanised after suffering a devastating injury during what was the final race of his career. He knuckled over at the final turn in the Hellova Stakes and they were unable to save him.
He was one of the earliest entries when we started this service, and won many races, and hearts, with his huge finishes over those years, and putting plenty of money into our accounts.
Thoughts go out to his owners and trainer, a sad loss indeed…
That somewhat over-shadows our results from yesterday, including a Hall of Fame entry in Lady Galadriel (4 units ew), winning her second race after catching the eye on debut. The $16.00/$3.10 was a great reward…

Caught the eye 17 days ago with a huge finish from dead last at big odds and earning a next-time tag. Had been scratched a couple of times prior to that, pushes out a bit further today and rates a big chance at $6.

In fantastic form but took his time winding up over the 950m dash 12 days ago. Back up to the 1300m, Wiggins returns, he’s bound to be on the finish as a $3.30 co-fav.

EE was heavily backed 20 days ago, dropped in grade and distance, got to the front and won with some style. $3.30 fav here, up in grade and distance, can go on with it.
NF resumed from a 116 day spell having won his previous two of the previous prep. Needed the run as he straggled in last, has won second-up and has stats in this class and at this distance. Will be better today, $6.50 on offer.
KH was better 13 days ago and drops back to a more suitable grade, EW at $8.00.

He’d been tracking along well and resumed 18 days ago from a 148 day break. Ran seventh of seven in his last ran at Flem before the break but that was in a Listed race and we fancied he’d go well on resuming but he really didn’t feature. He’s 1:1 second-up, so don’t write him off just yet, even as the $21 outsider in this small field.

Former Kiwi hugely back in grade, where he’s 9:4-3, has won first-up twice. May be a touch short as he resumes from a four month spell, he be clattering home late, EW at $10.
