We’re back baby!
Just a minor glitch on Tuesday as we bounced back with a vengeance yesterday, with three winners from eight picks!!
We spruiked up Lochnaberry (4 units ew) to take benefit from the resuming run three weeks ago, and as predicted, the return up to 1800m did the trick, winning with a sustained run at a well-supported $4.50/$1.90.
Not only did we tip Boldinho to pick off the fav in Pantelone, we also tipped the quinella. Our boy paid $4.40/$1.50, so whether you jumped on the 5 units ew or 10 unit win, you made money! Add to that the 10 unite quinella, and you picked up money at the $3.20 dividend!
And it was worth the wait for the get-out at Ascot WA, where despite losing Pikey, Wango Award (5 units ew) got up on the rail for a delicious $7.40/$2.40 win.
Not a bad day on the punt…
Must be Ladies’ Day today as all six tips are mares, and some very nice odds on offer for us…
Hello Ladies! We’re following the girls today, six from the book…
LUXURIANT
Rotorua, 7
She’s been close up in her past four runs this prep, albeit in small fields. Vinnie sticks, and she’s an $8 second fav shot in this big field. Opie looks hard to beat on the fav, EW for our tip.
BET: 4 units ew, include in exotics with the fav.
FIRRIATO
Rotorua, 8
She was noted with a fast-finishing fourth at Taupo in Feb but couldn’t quite break that maiden tag in her subsequent three efforts. Back from a 7 month break, has won a couple of trials, and presents here as a $3.40 fav, giving Opie a very real chance of a race-to-race double… She be arriving late, but looks well-placed.
BET: 10 unit win
RULE OF TIME
Ballarat, 6
Cruised to an impressive win under Billy Egan seven weeks ago, then ran a nice second at Swan Hill in the BM64 before finding the rise to 1860m at Kyneton two weeks back a step too far. Back to the mile, and McDougall not a downgrade in jockey, I find the $18 astonishingly good value, deffo today’s sleeper in this field. Watch for her late…
BET: 5 units ew
IT’S MY TURN
Ballarat, 7
Chasing four on the bounce, and impressive enough from on the speed at Pak in all three runs on the synth. Back to turf, but she’s 6:3-2-0 at the distance so must rate a great EW punt at $6.50.
BET: 5 units ew
Above two will feature in our late Vic qadi selections for sure…
FRANKIE’S ME DAD
Gosford, 7
Noted with a nice finish in Feb to get up and win at Newcastle to clear maidens, and repeated the dose there two weeks late. Then competed in two G1’s before a six month spell in the paddock, returning 19 days ago over a too short 1400m. Up to the mile and a bit fitter will help, though expect her to be more effective over further, but Z Lloyd hops onboard for the Maher/Eustace team, and that alone makes here worth an EW punt at $21…
BET: 4 units ew
TIDAL IMPACT
Gosford, 8
Competing a clean sweep of six mares today, she needs to lift somewhat to figure here as a $16 shot.
BET: 2 units ew
