Vesper breaks maiden and straight into the Hall of Fame!!
Welcome along to PG’s Tips on our third birthday!!
She kept us waiting but it was fourteenth time lucky for Vesper Lynd as she defied a huge betting drift to score by the narrowest of margins at a very nice $21.40!
We also produced a second, three thirds and a fourth in a back-to-form midweek selection, despite the Geelong Cup Day being abandoned due to high winds. Those races will be run today…
So it’s eight for an amended Thursday of racing, let’s have a look!

Broke her maiden status a month ago here then found the next one a bit rich as she faded late over the 1400m. Better suited here back to the 1200m, likes the heavy, and she can score here with the Mudman sticking as $2.90 fav.

Form last year was very good but he’s been pretty appalling since, closest he’s finished in his last five starts is six lengths away… However, he’s 5:3-1-0 on the track and 8:3-2-0 on heavy going, so not totally discounting him today, even as the $17 outsider…

Resumes from a five and a half month break and form last prep was very consistent, and rarely far off them… Very tidy stats, though suspect he’d prefer a bit further, if he can jump OK and find a spot, he’s capable of a big finish, $15 makes him a decent EW punt…

Three for the Geelong Cup, with Gilded Water the outstanding pick in this as $1.80 fav, looks the one to beat.
BS is consistent without winning and can fill a place, $6.50 on offer.
Ferago in similar form but needs to improve to feature as $61 outsider.
