Winner and a second…
A winner, a second and two fourths yesterday…
We weren’t sure Sir Simon (5 unit win) could hold out the fav but he did by a long neck at a nice $5.10, with the fav filling the quinella (10 units) at an equally juicy $5.30.
Tactfull continued his decent form this prep, and ran a nice second paying $3.50 the place.
Just the five today from the book, but some interesting EW opportunities…

Tremendous finish on debut in Feb this year from near-last to win by a length and a half. Couldn’t replicate a month later at Pak as fav over the mile, which seemed suitable, but he’s back to the 1400m today after a 259 day spell, stable will have him ready but just might need the run. Worth an EW punt at $8.50 though…

KERMANTIC
Ipswich, 4
Only finished outside the top five three times in 18 runs, resumes today after a 4 month spell and won a couple for us last prep. Tuned up for this with a couple of trials, winning one on M Cup Day. Has won first up and has placed at this distance, better over longer, though he is usually on the pace. Rate him another good EW bet at $10.

POLYLITHIC, STELLAR POWER
Ipswich, 6
Polylithic is a very quick frontrunner, which he’ll need to be in this dash for cash 800m event. Only missed the frame three times in 15 runs and is the one they all have to run down. Resumes after 5 months, good first-up stats and gets Jimmy Orman up top, a very positive booking and he’ll be hard to beat as the $4 fav in an open betting race. Stellar Power does not have that pace, and this is too sharp for him as a $31 shot…
BET: Polylithic 5 units ew, 10 unit win if the money comes. SP 2 units ew only…

Narrogin, 8
They keep trying with this mare to no avail, only win was a year ago as a $1.50 fav at this distance but hasn’t threatened to add to that. $18 on offer…
