Boom-Boomshanka!!

Well it was a double BOOMSHANKA!! day yesterday, with two Hall of Famers, but not from the sources we expected…

First of all, Luna Cat (4 units ew) backed up his T&D and second-up stats, getting up to win by a head at very juicy $13.50/$3.40.

Then late on at Belmont, Wango Award (2 units ew) repeated the dose, second-up stats standing him in good stead as he got home by an even tighter margin (nose) paying $11.60/$3.40.

Duke of Hastings (3 units ew) changed his usual tactics, running very prominently, and looking the winner for a ling way down the straight but getting gobbled up late, still running a bold second paying $4.90 the place.

Winning Aces almost found us another place, running fourth as a $31 shot…

Not bad, 50% strike rate!

Eight again today from the book, and more winners in waiting!

Eight for Thursday…

Brancaster Bomber

Oamaru R4

Been a while since he won, and he seems to go good race/bad race, so he’s due today, though no real form on wet. EW in an open betting race as $5 co-fav.

King Of The Bounty

Wangaratta R8

Noted when winning at Swan Hill in October under B Rawiller, who rode him into third again 18 days ago, the horse following up on a third the week before. The jump up to the BM64 will be a challenge, but Rawiller sticks (2:1-1) and he’s got reasonable T&D stats. Watch for him arriving late, EW for sure at $14…

Rule Of Time

Wangaratta R9

Noted in September when she cruised home to break maiden status at Benalla then ran a nice second straight up to the BM64 grade. Two runs for ninth then off to the paddock, and resumed in late March at the Bool and got up for us under L Meech at $7.50. Finished well in April for fifth at odds, then stepped back up to 1800m to run a close third under Meech last month. We thought stepping up to the 2100m 15 days ago would suit but she faded late, but still ran within 2.2 lengths of the winner. Benny Allen gets a turn today, this is a very competitive betting race, with just $1 between the top  five in the book, but confident our girl can make amends here at $5 and back to the 2000m.

Storm De Lune

Kembla Grange R6

Hard to see him doing enough to figure, one win in 28 not impressive, even the addition of J Penza not enough last two. $151 on offer…

Cool Lad

Kembla Grange R8

We were pretty bullish about his chances 15 days ago but he was never a factor, though not far away. Zac Lloyd sticks, drops back to the BM64, and willing to forgive that run and give another chance today as $4.80 fav.

Scenic Rim

Gatton R6

T&D specialist, the win three back here from the front was good before jumping up in grade and distance at Warwick Farm two back, but still ran a nice second. Back in grade and back at Gatton four weeks ago, fancied him to figure but he faded late from his usual prominent position, again, worth another chance on his T&Ds alone, $10 on offer.

Polylithic

Kempsey R7

Unusually got back early in the 900m dash 26 days ago but flashed home for third at odds. Up to 1000m, his fav distance and looks another good EW shot as $6 second fav.

BET: 4 units ew

Desert Nymph

Pinjarra R6

Bang on 200 days since she ran here, and has been very consistent in her 12 race career. Good distance and first-up stats, jockey is 9:2-6, 2:1-1 on soft, another rating a great EW chance at $9.50.
