Time to redeem ourselves!
A forgettable midweeker, nothing from our five picks, we go again, and pretty sure we have winners here today!!
Nine for Thursday, amazingly another NZ meeting abandoned before it started to add to yesterday’s débâcle at Pukekohe…
Nine for Thursday…
Night Fighter
Grafton R2
Consistent and ready to win fourth up. Resumed just over a month ago needing the run, then finished well at Scone for fifth. Ran third here 11 days again, and we tagged him to win soon, and he’s a top chance back on good going and down in grade a touch. Currently fav at $3.90, EW all day!

Compelling Truth, Polylithic
Grafton R8
CT was scratched here yesterday in favour. of this race. Strong on-pacer who went in the book Jan last year when she put them to the sword before being put out for over a year. Came back in Feb this year and immediately won two before two close finishes up in grade and a run down the track in a Highway. Back in the BM58 in May and he led them a merry dance, winning as well-supported fav by 5.4 lengths at Dubbo before two more huge wins from the front under JPH, who sticks today and is 4:4-0 onboard. First time on the track but he’s 7:4-1 over the distance, wins on any going, and no surprise he’s $1.65 fav to make it four in a row. Sell the farm…
Polylithic ran into some good form this time last year but form has been a bit patchy since. Top of the ground conditions the key for him, which he gets here, and while Penza is a welcome addition, it’s telling the JPH jumps off him to ride the fav. $251 would make him some Hall of Famer, but chuck him for a place in the exotics…
BET: CT 10 unit win, Poly 2 units ew, exotics with CT to win
Storm De Lune
Kembla Grange R4
Must be costing the owners plenty to keep him in feed, hasn’t won for nearly three years and only placed once in the past twenty runs… $151 sounds about right…
BET: 2 units ew
Setteveli
Kembla Grange R6
Another insider tip, who resumes after two months off, but we haven’t had any info come through about his chances today. Three runs on good ground have produced nothing to date, all his form has been on wet ground, and that last run doesn’t have him profiling for a likely win in this, so a careful EW punt as a $7 shot recommended.

Secret Location
Cairns R3
Finally fulfilled some early promise at Innisfail 26 days ago to win a BM65. Up in grade here, the slight rise in distance shouldn’t be an issue and winning jockey sticks, though form on soft not great…, $2.60 fav.
BET: 8 unit win
Brilliant Mind
Cairns R8
Tremendous T&D stats, won four in a row before a fifth and a second and gets Wiggins back up top (4:3-0). Should dominate this from the front, second fav at $5.50.

Bringyaticket, Tycoon Beau
Cairns R10
BYT screamed home down the fence in late Feb so the push out to the 1400m looked fine two weeks later, but he just couldn’t see it out, running third, also here. Back to 1300m in April, again here, and that did the trick, steaming home from dead last to get up for the win at his fav track at Townsville. Repeated the dose there last month, and we were very bullish about his chances 14 days ago at Mackay but he got a bit too far back this time but flew home as he does for fifth. Loves the distance and the soft track, Huxtable jumps on today, he’s $5 co-fav of three and he looks a great EW bet at that…
TB ran a solid second at the picnics 19 days ago, a place chance on that form and does have some tidy stats to his name… $11 on offer.
