One winner, two to watch… again…

A first, a second and a fourth from our five tips for yesterday…

Saved the best till last as Typhoon Taavi (5 units ew) was supported in to $2.90 and simply blew them away by 3 lengths, easing down at the finish, certainly one to watch for the future…

Hayai Mesu (5 units ew), produced her usual strong late finish to run second, also well-supported in to $1.40 for the place, just the one win but she’s ultra-consistent, and that next win is close…

The eyecatcher was Eye Pea Oh, we had her down as the sleeper on resuming, after a couple of big finishes last year and a win in a Midway. She was at big odds and was well off the pace as usual, by Tommy Berry produced a great finishing burst from her to run fourth less than a length from the winner. Got next-time written all over her, especially if over longer – watch this space!

Four for the Thursday, all of them big odds, but two of them real prospects, multi them up in an EW punt…

Four for Thursday at big odds!!

LURCH

Waverley, 3

On the face of, he’s a one-run maiden who ran seventh in his only race by nearly nine lengths, but we were watching… He was backed in late to around the $15 mark, last all the way and belted home, earning a next-time flag, and here he is, resuming after 203 days as a $13 shot. Keep safe!

INTERLLECTUS

Waverley, 4

Caught the eye when cruising in last May, but he is a jumper and a mudder to boot, so presuming this is a tune-up for him. $31 on offer…

BLUE JACKET

Rockhampton, 12

Has been ordinary this prep, though has won here and in this grade (4:1-1) and under this jockey, but will need to improve somewhat to figure here as a $126 shot, and would certainly qualify as the biggest entry into our Hall of Fame. History awaits…

RULE OF TIME

Pakenham, 6

Noted in September when she cruised home to break maiden status at Benalla then ran a nice second straight up to the BM64 grade. Two runs for ninth then off to the paddock, and resumed 19 days ago at the Bool and got up for us under Meech at $7.50. Winning jockey Billy Egan hops back onboard today, the 1400m suits this backmarker mare and she 2:1-1 second-up. I say she’s a bargain at $19 in this very open betting event…
