(And yet) another superb winner!!
Another cracking winner yesterday in our best bet Matawai (10 unit win), a talented former NZ filly who was back in grade with B Shinn onboard and she duly obliged at a very nice $3.50, and almost anchored us in the last leg of the $1400 qadi but we just missed the third leg!
Scamster finished on late as expected, running into fourth, while both Markwell Dreamer and Bold Response tried to muscle their way from the front but just faded into fifth on their respective run-ins.
Three for Thursday, two in the same race, and a couple of them winning chances!

ML resumed from a 4 month break two weeks ago at Pinjarra after finishing last prep with a couple of close fourths. Had trialled twice and with CJP onboard, he ran a much improved race after getting some support in from $41 to $21, and paid $7 the place. CJP sticks, will be fitter for that run, solid EW bet at $8.
PS has one placing in 17 runs (on debut) which is hardly inspiring, he’s a perennial backmarker who does finish off well occasionally without threatening, so he’ll need every bit of the 1400m here today. Not surprisingly, he’s the $126 outsider…

We spruiked her up to bounce back here a month ago after a couple of ordinary runs, and she looked the winner for a long way down the straight until getting nicked at the line, after being backed in to close to favouritism from an overnight price of $7. Had her down as a next-timer for sure, and she presented as the $3.00 fav 12 days ago here, up to the mile, but she couldn’t quite pick up the winner. Same T&D today, but drops in grade, D Gibbons (4:2-0) replaces A Gibbons onboard, $3.30 fav, think she wins this…
