A winner, a second, and another big watch…

We scraped together a winner, a second and two fourths yesterday, with More Sugar (10 unit win) producing a sustained run to score impressively as predicted, at $2.50.

Far Too Easy (5 units ew) was far too back in the run, and he flew home to just miss by a head, paying $1.50 the place. Surely wins the next one!

Fourths from Ellen’s Licence and Pepper’s Ghost, with our big tip in Setteveli fading to fifth after sitting beautifully just off the pace but unable to quicken inside the last hundred metres.

Don’t discard this lad in this as an $11 shot. He’s ex-HK and was noted finishing well in two runs for fourth here this time last year . Resumes after a couple of runs in April/May, but back on the synth today and back in grade too. Gets an upgrade up top in Ryan Elliot, sleeper…

MYCHYNA, MOON OVER ALICE

Mychyna had trialled up well, and duly bolted in back in March before jumping in grade and racing well. Jumps up again today, but she’s in good order, and a good EW shot at $8. MOA won a couple for us earlier this year but has gone round at big odds without reward since. $13 on offer today.

Capable of big finishes but blew out on resumption at Doomben a month ago. Good second-up record, and can make amends today under Ben Thompson as $2.40 fav.

Has popped up occasionally for us but up in grade may be a step too far. Return from a three month spell, and has gone well first-up previously, EW at $26…

RL has been going well at Listed level recently, including a big win at Ipswich two back and a close-up sixth without threatening on the Sunny last time. SM has been going round at big odds recently, with a close third at Randwick last time out, and  a couple of close finishes at Rosehill at Listed grade. Good distance and going stats. Both around the $12 mark, but will have a job beating this in-form fav…

He was in a rich vein of form two years back, finishing in the frame in eight consecutive races before an 8 month spell in the paddock. Obviously encountered some kind of issue as he ran last and next to last this time last year, and returns today from almost that year away. But, he won a trial here by 5 lengths 11 days ago, Raymond Spokes sticks… Absolute on-pacer, and today’s sleeper, we’re gonna spruik him up at $31…

Returned after 11 months needing the run at the Sunny 10 days ago. He’s 3:1-2 second up, won’t mind the heavy and has good T&D place stats here. EW chance at $15…
