A win and two nice places…
A scratching left us with six yesterday, with Desert Nymph (8 unit win) living up to our hype, backed in and getting home at $2.90.
Two nice placings in Girl (3 units ew) at $3.40 and Fire Love (3 units ew) at $3.50 the place.

A strange symmetry in this one…
LS is a former Kiwi who’s done very well in Aus, two wins and two seconds in six runs there. Noted with a gritty win in November, and resumed three weeks ago after an 8 month break under H Coffey. Ran out of puff but will be fitter today, drops in grade and back up to his fav distance to the mile. Can get a piece of this as $6.50 second fav. Vadaboom is also ex-NZ and broke his maiden at Riccy in Feb before heading to Aus where he’s been close in two of three runs while failing to handle heavy conditions at Werribee in June. Coffey jumps onboard him today, the going will suit him better, and a shot at $13.

DILLINGER, GHOST DOCTOR

Dillinger noted flashing home for fourth in Jan and duly obliged next time out with a tough win. Resumes after nearly 7 months, and a chance at $3.80, though he’ll need to be on his game to get past this hotpot fav. GD not too far off in recent runs without threatening, and it has been a while since he won, so EW best here at $12.

Been going round at big odds this prep, marginal chance in this small field at $6.50.

WANGO AWARD, WINNING ACES
Northam, 8
Wango Award resumes after 4 months and has trialled up for this. $2.15 fav, so someone’s keen… Winning Aces didn’t handle the heavy going last time out, previous runs were close up this prep. Not a great win record but can place here at $13.
