Two for the Hall of Fame…
Scratchings took us down to 31 from the book yesterday, producing three winners, four seconds, two thirds and two fourths, plus a quinella.
We had to wait late for our two Hall of Famers in Seiryu ($11) and Ruler Rocket ($14).
It’s eleven from the book for Sunday…
Sunday’s starting eleven…
Lochnaberry
Gore R8
Very open betting race, and this mare is third up, having improved both runs back this prep. Jockey onboard has been there for three of her four wins and she’s won twice at the track, EW shot at $13.
BET: 3 units ew
Adolphus
Canberra R3
Massively impressive winning two races in May in dominant fashion, before running a strange race, very stop-start, but looked the winner about 200m out as he hit the front only to fade late in a blanket finish for a second at Wagga in June. He;s been close up in four wins this prep, including a win, tends to get forward so the drop back to the mile suits, he’ll give these something to catch as $1.70 fav.
BET: 10 unit win
Snow In May
Canberra R5
Gritty win on debut and added to it next time plus a couple of placings at G1 and G2. Resumed a month ago from a 126 day spell in a G3, making some late headway, that will have brought her on and the rise to 1400m will work in her favour. T Schiller is 1:1 up top, $2.60 fav, watch for her late…
BET: 10 unit win
Regal Lion
Canberra R7
Backmarker who’s not going well enough, EW only at $26.
BET: 2 units ew
Sunchyme
Canberra R8
A few of these back from metro racing… Sunchyme a big $15 winner for us 14 days ago at Nowra after running last at Randwick previously, this is tougher but a chance at $26…
BET: 3 units ew
Oenology
Tamworth R5
Oenology made some late headway when up in grade 15 days ago, after a nice win at Musselbrook in early Feb, and drops back to a more suitable race today as $3.40 fav, with winning jockey back up top.
Tabulam resumes, most likely needing the run at $41.
BET: Oenology 8 unit win, Tabulam 2 units ew
Lisztomania, Point Basse, Who Ever Thought
Tamworth R7
Lisztomania noted in July last year with a fast finish and repeated that in subsequent races, so we thought he’d be better over further. Resumed at Randwick a month ago and he settled well back as usual but JMac produced him beautifully for a fabulous win. This is harder, but the push out to 1400m will suit, watch for him late, easy EW punt at $10.
Point Basse resumed 15 days ago, we thought he’d need the run but he did make some decent late headway to finish just 2.2 lengths away. Early career form was excellent, don’t discount him here, EW chance at $19.
WET wrapped up his last prep with two nice wins including a Hall of Fame win at Rosehill. Back after a 148 days spell, might need the run, but $41 looks generous, keep safe…
BET: LM 5 units ew, PB & WET 3 units ew, exotics
Real Gun
Echuca R4
Usually around the mark and won here on NY Eve under this jockey. On-pacer, he’ll be there at the death, $6 shot.
BET: 4 units ew
He’s Our Bonneval
Echuca R7
More metro graders here for the Echuca Cup, and if this gelding finds his best form, he’ll be right in this. Gets back, but he finished well on resuming 22 days ago at Flem, running on late for fifth. Out to 1400m will suit, good second-up stats (5:1-3) EW for sure at $8.50.
BET: 4 units ew
