BOOMSHANKA!!
It was a 5 Star BOOMSHANKA!! Saturday for us, a 24% win strike rate for the day, and TWO Hall of Famers!!
Red Hawk (2 units ew) rebounded from some indifferent form to score at a whopping $17.00/$3.40, and an entry on our Hall of Fame.
We were very bullish about the chances of Poetic Champion (5 units ew) who was resuming from a break having performed well up to G1 level, and he blew ‘em away to win at $8.60/$1.80.
Alabama Lass (10 unit win) is a 3 year old filly going places, and she added to her impressive record, winning at $1.90.
Deepfloat Diva (5 units ew) disappointed on resumption but we were keen to give him a chance to redeem himself, and he duly obliged, winning at $6.00/$2.10.
Finally at Belmont, Saloon Bar (5 units ew), back on a decent surface, continued his previous improving form with a win, and a HoF entry at $10.40/$2.10.
Seems a bit of an anti-climax to mention Lisztomania’s second (5 units ew, $1.85) and Desert Nymph’s third, the latter a truly badly judged ride from C Parnham as he only got to work late on the mare when it was all over as she bolted home…
Still, not a bad day at the office!

Bit inconsistent but handy on his day, when it comes around… The second two back was decent but out of his depth 15 days ago at Doomben. Placed 3 form 3 at this track and likes the distance, need him within striking range at the death, Huxtable is a nice booking, $4 second fav in this.

The carpark draw killed him here 14 days ago, he’s a perennial backmarker anyway but never got into it after running three decent places here this prep. Better draw today should see him finish closer, but place looks best at $31.
