Five star Saturday!!
A whopping five winners, three seconds, a third and three fourth on an exciting Moir Stakes day yesterday!
And of course we snagged the winner and quinella in the big race, with thrilling blanket finish, with Baraqiel diving late to edge out Kiwi mare Alabama Lass, paying $6.50 the win and $17.30 for the quinella!
We got off to a great start with our first of the day Double Take leading all the way for a Hall of Fame $11 win, then First Dance two races later winning at $6.50.
Another close finish saw Headwall prevail in the Concorde, paying $4.60, and Boldinho, enjoying his new career in Darwin, winning at $1.70.
A busy Sunday, with 14 from the book, and some winners in waiting!!
A busy Fathers’ Day…
Those Ocean Eyes
Timaru R5
2:40pm
Impressive when winning on debut in Feb, followed by a close second before failing at Riccy when up to the 1400m in March. Resumes having trialled quietly last month, and rates a good chance in this, back to the 1200m, $8 on offer.

Ess Vee Are
Timaru R7
3:52pm
Same jockey presents on Ess Vee Are, resuming from a five month break. Placed two from four first-up, he also trialled last month but suspect he’ll both need the run and would prefer longer having been unplaced in five efforts over the mile, $16 outsider…

Interlagos
Timaru R8
4:32pm
Has done little since his big win for us in June, gets on former ground for the first time but he’ll need to improve to feature at $31.

Brial Rose
Gundagai R4
5:10pm
Resumed early July with a seventh and then ran a bold race for third in late July trying to lead all the way. Fitter, winning jockey back onboard, trialled last month, think she only goes well at $5 in a very open betting race.

Winston Blue
Kilcoy R4
5:20pm
Not doing a lot to contribute to his oats bill recently, hence the $67 odds…

Thoros Of Myr, Cornelian Bay
Devonport Synthetic R7
6:35pm
TOM is the model of consistency, once he gets to the front he’s very hard to catch as proven this T&D three weeks ago. Winning jock sticks, $2.05 fav, and should have the measure of CB again in this.
BET: TOM 10 unit win, CB 3 units ew, exotics of course…
Recovery Road
Mudgee R7
7:20pm
Made his debut this time last year, well-supported in the market and winning at Ballarat on the synth. Ran a little green but dug in well to win, then ran last a Flem before heading to the paddock. Warmed up with a couple of tidy trials in June, and needed the resuming run at Scone three weeks ago, running last but not that far off. Not ruling him out completely at $19, could be a sleeper…

Hot Too Go, Options, Foix
Bendigo R9
7:30pm
This is a tricky one, where we have three blackbookers, all rated as chances…
HTG resumed under Stackhouse a month ago and gave ‘em a hiding, making up half a dozen lengths in the last 300m. Jockey sticks, fitter, up to the mile, ticks a lot of boxes, $4.60.
Options was no less impressive on debut at Echuca two days later. He’d switched barns after trialling well, and though Coffey missed the jump on him and he was last all the way, he sprinted home to get up. Has trialled since, Coffey stick, can’t leave him out at $9.
We’ve been waiting nearly a year for Foix, got jammed up in his last run in a consistent first prep and flew home for third in a fast-run race. The mile might be a touch short of what he’d prefer, Mickey Dee a nice booking though, and he’s tuned up with a couple of trials, chance at $23…
BET: HTG and O 5 units ew, Foix 3 units ew, exotics including these…
Fiendish
Kalgoorlie R3

I Never Dreamed
Kalgoorlie R5

Another who needs to find her early prep form, last two a bit ordinary, prefer over longer EW at $9.

Nothing if not consistent, just finds it hard to win… EW shot all day at $12…
