Sunday’s Top Ten…

Awapuni R2
The next-time tag was applied to this lad 10 days ago as he looked to regain his debut form after a few disappointing runs. Lisa settled him back in the run but he flashed home late for third, just missing by half a length, and he’ll start fav on the back of that, $2.20 at the mo. Lisa sticks, up to 2140m, time to break his duck…
BET: 10 unit win
Idyllic
Awapuni R4
We noted her win in September last year as “unreal” and she’d been right around the mark since before rising in class somewhat to run last in the Lightning 7 weeks ago. Back in the grade she’s performed well in previously, and she’ll enjoy the firmer going today, think she wins this as $3.30 fav.
BET: 10 unit win
Winston Blue
Sunshine Coast R6
Has shown some improvement this prep, and flew home for third at Toowoomba last week. Has been effective at this distance and is 3:1-1 at the track. Could just be the sleeper today at $21…
BET: 3 units ew
Cornelian Bay
Devonport R4
His stats are off the planet, T&Ds, first-up, class, jockey… If they can get him reasonably near the pace, he’ll take some holding out, $7.50 makes him very backable EW…
BET: 5 units ew
Fantasy Eagle, Our Baez
Alice Springs R4
Neither have shown enough this prep to suggest they’ll winning this one, at $26 and $81, so interest bets only here…

Saloon Bar
Northam, R6
Was a good thing beaten when trapped at Ascot in November and duly won next time out. Two runs this prep had been good and he went round in the Quokka 15 days ago and ran a very respectable fifth, less than 2 lengths from the winner, at an $81 SP. Has won at this track, C Parnham is 8:3-3 onboard and the push out to 1300m is a positive. The fav looks hard to knock off as he returned from a long break two weeks ago with a decent third, and it looks a race in two, even in this big field, and the $6 looks tempting…
