Boomshanka!!
Three winners, two seconds, three thirds and two fourths from our 20 tips yesterday, plus a quinella, obviously a 50% returning a dividend, but what a winner we found for you!!
Had to wait till the last at Kurow as Royal Wings (3 units ew) resumed from a 649 day spell, and we thought she might need the run, and that was the way it looked as she jumped out last and stayed there – till the final bend, when she zoomed home to win by a length. Opening at $26, she drifted out to $61 (where we backed her EW) and picking up a superb return, just missing the $3581 trifecta. Another fabulous Hall of Famer!!
Other winners were Midnight in Tokyo (10 unit win), also on the drift, but powered home to win at $1.90.
Brilliant Mind (10 unit win, $1.40) beat Bold Type into second a week ago, giving us a $10 quinella, and they repeated the dose yesterday, only paying $2.40 this time.
Pride of place in the placegetters went very late on in the evening as Blazing Tycoon (2 units ew) ran third paying $6.80 the place.
Other placings went to It’s My Turn ($2.60), Skylab ($2.20), Russian Dancer ($1.90) with fourths for Phorcys and Telling Tales.

He’s a big horse with a big stride, and has won two of his three races, the only failure sandwiched between those wins on the heavy at Trentham in early November. Looks likely to progress well through the grades, steps up to the 1400m today and Lisa sticks, so would be surprised if he didn’t win this as $2.30 fav after trialling up with a second 12 days ago.

Two good efforts for placings in her last two and she drops a touch in grade to where she’s 3:3. Outstanding T&D stats, happy on the soft and striking up a good understanding with Rochelle Milnes whom stick up top today. $4.40 fav. Does get back a touch and will need to be nearer the pace over this shorter 1000m today in a big field…

Went in to the book when spruiked up on debut July last year when she duly obliged here. Eight subsequent runs have [produced four placings, and she returns from a 144 day spell in the paddock. Warmed up with a couple of easy trials and can make a winning return, easy EW punt at $7.50.

PLAINLY SPOKEN
Bunbury, 4
One placing in twelve runs hardly catches the eye but her last run into fifth did just that, running on late at Ascot, making today’s attempt at 1705m that much more appealing. Holly Watson sticks, and while this is an open betting race, she’s been well-supported early as $4.20 second fav, all over at that price and we think this is her day.
