Two winners, including a Hall of Famer, plus two seconds, a third and an amazing 8 fourth places, a 54% dividend return!

Leading the day was Bankers Choice, getting out to lead and they couldn’t pull him in as he scooted in for a Hall of Fame win at a massive $28.10/$6.40.

Donation ($2.50) was the other winner, jumping up in grade from the picnics.

Debut run for second was full of merit, when he ran a bit green, and we fully expected him to follow that up three weeks ago at Otaki, only for him to run sixth, but he redeemed himself three weeks later despite drifting in the betting at Woodville, and never looked like losing once he hit the front, and he cantered away to a nice win and a promise of more to come. Went for a 190 day spell and we expected him to feature when resuming in October, but he’s run tenth and eleventh in his two runs this prep. Not sure the reasons for those tow poor runs, J Riddell sticks, has ridden him in 4 of his 5 runs, though curiously not when he broke maiden ranks. Ran a close fifth of five in a trail 12 days ago, we’re not ready to ditch him as yet, moves out to the 2060m mark today, which may be what he needs… $34 on offer, would be nice, so we’re having a go!
