Boom-boom, shake the room!!

Another brilliant BOOMSHANKA! day for PG’s Tips yesterday, with a whopping 45% of our 33 tips finishing in the frame!

Five winners, four seconds, five thirds and a fourth made up the tally, with some astonishing odds!

Pride of place goes to Belclare (3 units ew) who added another Hall of Fame entry to her list when running away with the Westbury Classic, paying $21.90/$6.20. We suggested including her in the exotics, and if you snagged the trifecta it was worth $2160…

The other four winners were a little more predictable, with Crocetti ($1.40), Velocious ($2.00), Russian Dancer ($1.70) and Polylithic ($1.90) all obliging albeit at tight odds.

However, our placed horse produced some stunning place odds, with Just As Sharp ($9.60) leading the way, closely followed by Pahang ($8.10), Fire ($4.50) and Lord Darci ($3.80).

Others included Frankel Star ($2.60), Nortibutnice ($1.50), Philosopher ($1.40), Recommendation ($1.20), Eaglelou (ND) and Mankayan (fourth).

A slightly quieter day as we draw breath, with four from the book, all in with a shot!

FIORENTE SPRITZ

We spruiked her up two back at Terang last month after a couple of nice placings, and Coffey prduced her with a late run to win nicely. Came out earlier this month but Jonny Allen unable to reproduce the win from a similar run, getting swaped late to run third. Steps up in grade today and drops back to the 1708m, if they can get her on-pace, she’ll be hard to run down as a $6.50 shot.

BRILLIANT MIND, BOLD TYPE

Cairns, 1

These two have battled it out to finish first and second in their last two meetings, BM coming out on top. BT popped up at Townsville 8 days ago to win nicely. Gulf of Lion finished third behind both of them in one of those runs, then won himself on the same day BT won. No reason to see those positions change.

BET: BM 10 unit win, exotics with the other two…

ALF’S MAGIC

Grafton, 3

Won three of his first four career runs but hasn’t rarely popped up since. Returned 23 days ago from a 10 month break, onviously needing the run. Has won second-up, also T&D winner and won on soft, and presents here as $5 third fav. Back in grade too, so improvement expected…
