Two for the Hall of Fame!!
Busy day on the punt yesterday, we produced two winners, but both of them Hall of Famers!
We got off to a great start at Te Rapa, where the badly drifting Cindy Falls ($7.50 out to $14.90/$4.60) have them a head start and a sound thrashing, winning with a leg in the air, great return for our 3 unit ew investment!
The other winner was Letsrollthedice (4 units ew), whose resuming run over the shorter distance and wetter surface we recognised as being a tune-up, and over the 1800m, and on a firmer surface, we fancied he’d be right in this, and as expected, Rawiller got him closer in the run and booted him home as a very nice $10.60/$3.20.
And a great array of placings to go with those two, Symphony of Colour ($4.10), Learning To Fly ($3.80), Winston Blue ($3.00), Sachem ($3.00), Karman Line ($2.40) and Jimmysstar ($1.00).
Three fourths from Enrico, Papillon Club and Eye Pee Oh rounded out our day, giving us a return dividend rate of 42% from our 26 tips.
Eleven from the book today, with tips in all four of the late Rocky qadi, albeit one of them a $151 shot, but we’ll be having crack at it!

Noted when flying home for second a month ago at Riverton, and marked down as a next-timer. That came a week later where she ran a close fifth, but ready to go again here in an open betting race as $4 fav.

Another very close betting race, small field, and she hasn’t won for a year or so, chance with Tina hopping on at $3.70.

DEEP STREAM
Ballarat, 4
We had been waiting for him to re-surface since October when he debuted at Wingatui, spruiked and backed and screamed home from last of 14 to run fifth. Popped up over at Bendigo in December, drifted in the betting and ran last of eight before heading to the paddock for 4 months. Rates a chance on that debut run, EW at $6.50 today.

Has been running in metro races, and not too far off either, so looks a shoo-in here as $1.85 fav.

How in heck does handicapping work? This lad has done very little in the past nine months, has never won on this track, is up in grade, where he’s never won, yet he’s top weight for this and a $61 shot… Ah well, go prove me wrong…

Rockhampton, 5
Scratched or scheduled in an abandoned meeting recently, but she’s a consistent type resuming from a 104 day spell after a couple of trials. She’ll need to be quick away but can make the frame at $6.50.

One win only in past couple of years suggests this may be a bridge too far for this lad. Fav distance, but would be surprise to get a dividend as the $126 outsider…

Went in the book last July when he ran ‘em ragged here and was solid in his next four before heading to the paddock. Resumed at Mackay after 170 days with two trials under his belt and Ashley Butler up top, and bolted in at $7. Sticks at the 1300m and if he makes the front, they’re gonna find him hard to catch…The $9 looks like great value, though the fav, who’s a G1 placegetter will be hard to hold out late…

She’s produced three huge finishes this prep for a second, a first and a fifth, with G Cartwright back onboard after that win. Got to stick with her as an $8.50 shot here…

Backs up after 11 days when we fancied her to go close at Balaclava, and she just missed late running second, her fourth placing in five runs. Down a touch in grade and distance, Pannell sticks, and she looks like racking up that second win as $3.40 fav.

Resumes after 63 days away, just one poor run last prep after a previous 168 day break. Hard to make a case as $34 outsider, interest bet only…
