Four winners, lots of places…

Four winners, albeit short-priced yesterday, featuring some superb Aussie horses on display, plus a former Kiwi…

Autumn Glow, Via Sistina, Broadsiding and Gringotts were a pleasure to watch as they won  with some style.

Quite a few places, with two seconds, five thirds and two fourths rounding out the day.

Another embarrassment for NZ racing today, as Tauherenikau gets shut down after one race. We can understand winter racing being subject to these abandonments, but there’s been far too many over this summer…

Caught the eye 19 days ago with a huge run from last to run a close fourth over 1200m, and we tagged him as a next timer especially over longer. Appears today over 1321m, gets D Stackhouse up top and is a $4.20 shot in a tight betting field.

Goulburn R6

Ticklebelly noted in early Feb with a gutsy win then ran a close fifth to our other blackbooker Sunchyme. Well-placed to improve on that, jockey sticks, $7.50 third fav in a wide open betting race.

MC is ultra-consistent (9:3-5), likes the track (3:1-2), moves up to 1400m today and has a decent finish in him. Up in grade but rates an EW shot at $26…

BET: Both 5 units ew, exotics

Sunshine Coast R7

Frontrunner who’s busting to win one to break her maiden status and won a recent trial here. Looks like a race in two, definite chance to take this out as $3.80 second fav.

BET: 8 unit win

Miss Intention

Pinjarra R10

Over a year and a half since her last win, gets back early so just not sure why she’s been dropped back to the 1300m here. Will need some huge improvement or change of tactics to feature here at $34.
