Seconds for More Sugar (3 units ew) who continued her good T&D stats, paying a very juicy $9.20 and a Hall of Fame entry, Rise At Dawn (5 units ew, $1.50), and Fox Gem (3 units ew, $2.00).
Thirds for The First Link (2 units ew, $3.40) and Festival Prince (2 units ew, $2.50).

Will start this as $2.30 fav, and interestingly gets the talented Kiwi jock Aaron Kuru up top, think he breaks maidens today, moving up to the 2000m, will be dropping in late…

The impressive debut winner fav looks very hard to beat in this, but our lad ran away from them at Tamworth to clear maidens at his second attempt in Jan before two big finishes for third here and at Newcastle within a month before heading to the paddock for 4 months. Resumed 12 days ago under Bullock (who’s jumped onto this fav) and needed the run, but he has won second-up. Got back in that 900m resuming run and will be better suited, and fitter, back up to his fav 1200m. Another who’ll be descending late, and he’s the value runner at $31.

Went in the book last July with a huge finish for second and followed it up with a win the following month but has been hanging around the country and picnic meetings without much effect, so hard to have him winning this as $151 outsider…

Spaces his best efforts out somewhat but did run third here two runs back, and has been metro racing prior. Steps back up in grade here, jockey has gone well previously, and he goes like the firmer conditions, so not hopeless at $18, keep safe.

Plenty of positive stats, but then they all have in Tassie. Close second 14 days ago has him a $10 chance in this, hotpot fav looks hard to beat though, so EW for our lad…
