Winner, winner, winner!
Three winners, a second and four thirds made up our day on the punt yesterday… Our winners didn’t all come from our most fancied tips and provided some nice odds.
Goldman (3 units ew) sported some superb form in his early career, and at one point was a Melbourne Cup favourite, and we were looking for him to bounce back to some of that early form, and boy, did he deliver, leading most of the way and hanging on for the grittiest win you’ll see this year at $8.50.
Ang Pow (4 units ew), fitter for recent runs and back to his fav distance, produced a fine late run to get up at the same price, while rising star filly Samangu (10 unit win) led them a merry dance and strolled over the line at $2.15 ($3 if you took the boosted odds on bet365!)
Talisker hung on for second ($2.80), thirds for Blazing Tycoon ($1.65), Philosopher ($2.20), Chorlton Lane ($4.20), Getafix ($2.00).
Six for Sunday, and some outrageous odds on offer!
Sunday Six
Buoyant
Gore R7
Early career stats were outstanding, but seven runs in Aussie saw him last or close to last but in higher grades but resumed in NZ at Wingatui in October with a tidy fourth. McNab jumped on 15 days ago and he finished well for another fourth, then repeated the dose 21 days ago at Cromwell, just fading late. Looks poised to break through if he can find some early speed, and while he’s won 5 of his 6 races on soft, he’s 0 for 2 on heavy, that’s a concern as there’s others who are proven. $2.50 fav.
BET: 8 unit win
Forty Four Cubits
Moruya R2
Resumed from a 255 days absence with a fifth at Bong Bong before fading to near-last 20 days ago at the Saph Coast. Lightly raced and bolted in on debut at Wagga in April last year, but she’s in real need of a form injection, $51 on offer…

Kattegat
Moruya R3
Aussie’s version of Kattegat goes round again, tends to get to the front early, but with the push out to 130mm today, he’ll need to be restrained a little and save something for the finish, chance if he can do that… Loves the track, small field, $4.60, can win if it goes right for him…
BET: 6 unit win
Gorush Lightning
Moruya R4
Super T&D stats, but he hasn’t put them to use in recent runs. Resumes from two months off, has win first-up, but faces a few from higher grades here, small field again, $34 on offer…
BET: 4 unit win
More Snitzel
Mt Gambier R7
Two seconds had us excited about his chances 14 days ago at Murwillumbah but he ran a long last. Race before that he was only a nose away from today’s second fav at this T&D under this jockey, so we’re not writing him off just yet, $13 on offer.

Prepare For Change
Bunbury R4
He’s had a very chequered career, with only one win from 17 to date, and resumed three weeks ago from a huge break of 508 days, suggesting he might just need the run, as it proved as he never emerged from the pack at huge odds. Might prefer a touch of rain, he’s 7:0-5 on soft, and he’s $31, but will be better for that run…
