35% return a dividend…
Yesterday’s tips produced two winners, three seconds, sixth thirds and a fourth, that’s 35% of our blackbookers providing a return.
The outstanding winner for me was Fawkner Park (5 units ew), we know he’s a class horse, possessing a big finish, and that the rise to 2200m would work in his favour. Toby Schiller parked him nicely off the pace, and when they came off the final bend, he produced a devastating change of gears and gave them an absolute bath, paying $4.10/$1.60.
Amati (3 units ew) fell into a similar bracket, earning a next-time tag from us 10 days ago when flying home for third, and she revelled in the heavy going to get home at a very nice $7.80/$2.20.
Seconds for Zeefa Zed ($1.55), Johny Johny ($3.40) and Ghost Doctor ($3.30).
A raft of thirds, including Lord Spencer ($1.70), Shameless Boy ($2.50), Fox Gem ($2.70), Midnight In Tokyo ($2.80), Ang Pow ($3.60) and Cindy Falls ($3.50).
Our pocket-rocket in The Inevitable went round at $26, and inevitable flew home for a close fourth.
Seven on a quieter Sunday, let’s have a look!!
Sunday Seven…
Fighting Arrow
Seymour R6
Resuming from a 158 day spell, and has placed two from four first up. He tends to get back in the run, which, back at the 1400m, he can’t afford today, and he may well be needing the run today. Will enjoy the give in the ground, pay to keep safe though at $21, watch late.

Incessant
Sunshine Coast R6
Massive from last on debut in October for second then repeated that two weeks later before a trip to the paddock. Resumed after 222 days here 21 days ago, after a trial win, we expected him to win but he arrived a touch too late to run a third second in three career runs. Maloney sticks, he surely breaks maiden status today as $1.95 fav.
BET: 10 unit win
Galenus
Devonport Synthetic R7
Back from a two month spell and races well in this grade. Has super first-up stats (9:4-4), will be right on the pace and looks a threat to the hotpot fav at $10, fav jockey Chelsea Baker sticks.
BET: 5 units ew
Cornelian Bay, Thoros Of Myr
Devonport Synthetic R9
CB much improved this prep, both at this track, for a fast-finishing second and a win. The step up to 1350m should suit and looks a good EW prospect as $5 third fav, though top two will be hard to beat.
TOM has flattered to deceive in two runs here since hos opening win this prep, so interest only at $6.50.
BET: CB 5 units ew, TOM 2 units ew
Fantasy Eagle
Alice Springs R4
Drops significantly in grade and is rarely far off, without winning too many. Rates a chance at $5 in this small field.
BET: 5 unit win
Fiendish
Kalgoorlie R5
Doesn’t win too many either, but without threatening, so hard to enthuse about his chances in this as a $23 shot.
BET: 2 units ew
