Two nice winners…
Scratchings and an abandoned meeting reduced us to sixteen yesterday, but a couple of nice winners in there…
We suggested Capo Dell Impero (6 units win) could get past the hotpot fav in Elegant Lady, and he skated in by three lengths at $5.60, with the fav running third and just denying us the quinella…
Our best bet Naval College (10 unit win) looked hard to beat at Rosehill, and he bolted in by a similar distance at $2.80.
Bullet Wing (3 units ew) ran a nice third, paying $4.90, while Far Too Easy left it far too late, stuck in the last two all the way and flew home for a close fourth…
Six from the book on the welcome return to racing at Ellerslie, the surface looking in superb condition, with a six-race card and our two tips there looking very likely to figure in affairs. The other four are, shall we say, some of our lesser lights in Aussie, but curiously have all been spruiked up a bit today. Let’s have a look!

Big drop back in grade to the BM58 for this mare after she ran a close eighth in the Inverell Cup 13 days ago. Previous run was a close second inn this grade. Fav distance, jockey has won onboard before, chance in this as a $5 shot…

Backmarker who powered home on resumption for fourth from dead last. Noted in September for the same run and the switch up to the mile today could be the key. He’ll get back early again, but watch for him screaming home, $23 makes him today’s sleeper…

Honestly find it hard to understand how he’s being spruiked up elsewhere, last or next to last in most of his last eight races, and a $5.50 chance in this, but we’ll give him another shot…
