BOOMSHANKA Mark 2!!
And yet another BOOMSHANKA day for PG’s Tips!
Following on from Friday’s 90% strike rate, our 25 tips yesterday produced a whopping 64% returning dividends, comprising of 5 winners, 7 seconds, 3 thirds and a fourth!
OK, here we go…
Pearl of Alsace (10 unit win) got us off to a great start at Ellerslie with a beautifully timed run to return to the winners’ circle. Karaka Million winner Velocious (10 unit win) repeated the dose with a dominant win at $1.60.
Over in Aussie, Switzerland (8 unit win) beat a very talented field, paying $3.40, while Eternal Flame (8 unit win) anchored us to the treble at Flemington. Lunar Hero (3 units ew) completed a winning five-timer after being well-supported, paying $3.40.
Seconds included Marengo ($1.80), Let Fly ($2.60), Testify Me ($1.90), C’est Magique ($2.40), Daytona Bay ($1.40), Enterprise Pomme ($1.70), and Winston Blue ($5.20).
Thirds for Idyllic ($1.80), Ladies Man ($2.70), and Mollynickers ($1.80), with Fawkner Park running fourth.

MORE THAN WORDS, RETURN WITH HONOUR

MTW went in the book April last year and has performed consistently since. Resumed three weeks ago needing the run, then reappeared 16 days ago at Riccy with a very nice third, paying $4.70 the place. Tina jumps back onboard (4:2-1) and this looks a suitable race to get back into winning ways as $3.30 fav. RWH boomed home for a win in Jan last year at Wingatui, but hasn’t followed up in three subsequent runs. Resumes from an 11 month absence, has won first up, but looks as if he’ll need this, $7 on offer.

LA OPCION

Very open betting race, with four co-favs. Tina won two back on our mare but ran down the track 22 days ago on top of the ground. She’ll appreciate the give in the ground today, decent T&D stats, definite EW bet at $5.50.

RAMONES
Tamworth, 6
Resumed from a long break well-supported at Quirindi 16 days ago, and went a bold race, just fading late to third. He won a trial 9 days previously, and would have taken benefit form the run, and presents today as an $8.50 shot.

SUPER EXTREME, STING JET, RUSSLEY CROWN
Tamworth, 7
Another very open event… SE bounced straight into form resuming 34 days ago from a 3 month spell with a dashing run from near last. Rose to the 1200m 12 days ago, once again belting home from dead last to run third at SP $9, suggesting the rise to 1400m will suit. Morgan sticks and this looks a great bet at $7.50. He followed Sting Jet home in that race, who won the race, so the same applies to him at the same price. Russley Crown resumes after 4 months, back in grade, has run two seconds and a win in three trials, he’s $11 in this.
Three very viable EW punts in this.
BET: Tempted to say back all three 4 units ew, include in exotics, they’ll surely all figure in the finish, should be an exciting watch late on!!

Consistent without winning too many, should be thereabouts at $5 in this small field.

CANNY HELL
Canberra, 6
Resumed from a long break with two on-pace wins at Albury but the rise to 1400m and up in grade was his undoing 21 days go. He’s up against some good horses in the Guineas here today, fav looks hard to beat, but is worth an EW bet at $16, and could spice up the exotics.

Out of sorts this prep, and has been for some time apart from the odd win. Hard to see him winning this as $21 shot…

Resumes from a two month spell, won three times for us last prep and memorably almost got up at $61 in September. Goes best when he gets in front, has form first up and back to 1000m after running third in a trial 5 days ago. Tight betting race, chance at $3.90.

SALOON BAR

Noted when going in the book late November at Ascot when trapped badly and duly followed up winning there a week late. Went to the paddock for three months and has trialled up well recently in prep for this. Back in grade, watch for him late in this at $11, should get a piece of this, today’s sleeper…
