BOOMSHANKA!!
Another BOOMSHANKA day for PG’s Tips yesterday as NINE of our TEN tips pay a dividend!!
The only miss, amazingly, was odds-on fav Jimmysstar’s failure, but it didn’t matter in the race as our other selection Rustic Steel (3 units ew), made a mess of them at $11.70/$2.70 as he headed for our Hall of Fame. We suggested exotics, and if you worked that out, then you enjoyed a $24K trifecta and a $55K first four!
Moving on, and Girl (10 unit win) was heavily supported in to $1.50, with Matriarch Rose a neck away second and I Never Dreamed in fourth.
Back here in Taupo, December (4 units ew) and Aquilifer (4 units ew) were set a stiff task to beat the unbeaten Witz End, and, boy, did December do that, racing away to a super win as he was backed in to $3.10, with Aquilifer third at $3.00, Witz End running second. We suggested exotics including these three, and were rewarded with a $3.70 quinella, a $60.20 tri and a $290 first four!
Over at the Valley, Unflinching resumed with a promising second at $4.20, with Philosopher a slightly disappointing third.
Finally, Raging Rush (5 units ew) couldn’t quite repeat his dominant on-pace win of two weeks ago, just fading to third at $1.50.
Not a bad day at the office, and over 25 tips today as we head for a big day of racing at Ellerslie (Auckland Cup, Sistema, and the Bonecrusher), Trentham, and over in Aus Flemington, where Imperatriz and Opie will be aiming for seven in a row in the Newmarket, plus Randwick.

In contrast, a very open betting event, and this mare stuck on well in a big field for us 21 days ago with a nice second here at $18. Very much a good EW bet n that at $8.50.

Idyllic in good form recently, second fav here at $5 in oanother open field, EW no problem and can win. GS poor last two, marginal chance.

Form has been a bit patchy this time in, but they’ve got him $21.0 fav for this, due a win.

The 2000m was a bridge too far for B at Caulfield a month ago, though he’s still to win at 1800m, but back to HQ is a plus, races well here, and a chance to bounce back in this small field at $14. You’ll get EW odds at NZTAB. FP won five in a row last year for us before a couple of breaks, resumed two weeks ago with a nice fourth, should progress from that, $3.20 second fav.

Brilliant win six weeks back at Ellerslie to win the Concorde and make it 3 from 3. If you heard trainer Chad Ormsby the other day, this lad was heading to retirement before even running a race, but they got him back to NZ and sorted him out, now he’s up against Imperatriz. Might not beat that horse, but super value at $31, would beef up the exotics for sure!
