Four dividends from seven…
A winner, two seconds and a third, not a bad return from our seven yesterday…
Lunar Hero (5 units win) resumed from an 8 month plus break and straight into a BM78, backed into $3 fav and won by over two lengths.
June Bug (5 units ew) sports decent second-up stats, and almost added to them, trying to lead all the way and just getting collared late, paying $2.90 the place.
Effortkat (2 units ew) was sent out a big odds outsider and snuck up on the fence only to be nabbed by a long neck right at the death, paying a very juicy $4.80 the place.
Rocket Scientist (5 units ew) finished well on return recently and did the same at the Valley, running a nice third at $1.70, with more to come…
We’ve got thirty from the book on a busy Saturday, and no doubt plenty of winners in there, let’s get amongst ‘em!! NZ first…

These two haven’t shown a lot of recent form but sit at around the $6 mark. Cork is a heavy track expert, so this might not suit, while SVR brings some ordinary Aussie form.

Adam I Am looks a bit special and is chasing the hat-trick as he progresses through the grades. Looks good enough to continue his fine form as $2.20 fav. The Badger ran a good second 15 days ago, and while he’ll struggle to beat this fav he can run a place at $19…

Ran a second at big odds in October but recent runs not so good. EW at $23.

Shamus resumes today on the back of 6 wins from 10, stats superb obviously and he won a trial in prep for this, $3.10 in a small field. Looks like a race in two. Belclare drops back from G1-2-3 racing, so can’t entirely rule her out, $12 outsider.

Blew ‘em away on debut by 6 lengths before a third 14 days ago at Puke. Close betting race, $4.40 second fav, worth an EW punt without doubt…

Nice finish on debut then eighth, both at Wanganui. Steps up to the mile and does finish well, so EW shot at $23.

AEGON, HABANA
Trentham, 8
Another race in two on the face of it, and it’s our two tips. Aegon the class horse of the field, has been running in some big races in Aussie and HK. $5 fav, would prefer some rain. Habana is in fine form, career stats are 14:7-3 and Kennedy has great stats up top, second fav at $6.50.

AAE returns from a 98 day spell down in grade, good first-up and track stats, gets back but will be finishing on late, good EW punt at $7. CB up in grade, consistent without winning, place chance at $14.

Bermadez re-discovered some form on resuming a month back, running a close second under Ollie with a let run. Been on our books for some time, has good second-up stats, so can’t leave out, $14 on offer.

Went in the book late Oct, returning from 446 days away with a devastating burst from last to first to win by three lengths. Almost repeated the dose at Taree three weeks later, gets McEvoy up top and the 1400m looks like it will suit, so $11 looks very generous.
