Two winners and two thirds…

Two winners and two thirds from our seven tips yesterday (57% strike-rate), with Let Fly (10 unit win) getting us off to a flying start in the first at Ruakaka with a rousing win paying $4.40.

We suggested frontrunner Brazen Brecchia would relish the drop in grade and distance, and he simply ran them ragged, paying a juicy $9!

Fiorente Spritz was up near the pace but got swamped late, running third at $1.40, while Seiryu got back early and trapped on the fence, by the time he extricated himself and flew home for a very close third (5 units ew, $1.90). More to come we think…

We have eighteen from the book today, a little quieter than usual, but with tips in the late qadi at Geelong, where it’s Black Pearl Stakes day, let’s jump in!

NZ & Aussie today…

ENRICO, JACK IN THE BOX

Hastings, 8

Open event to close the card here, Enrico sitting at $23, and a chance on his second two back at Wanganui. Last run at Trentham was a bit plain and the rise to 2100m should suit. We spruiked up Jack In The Box 9 days ago and he ran a close second at $16. Step up but he can feature at $34.
BET: Can back both 3 units ew, include in exotics

TELLING TALES

Kumara, 6

Backing up quickly again after the run at Omoto for second on Wednesday and a chance at $6.
BET: 3 units ew

SEBONACK

Geelong, 6

Finished stoutly for fourth 11 days ago, has won at G3 level. Yet to place at this distance but rates a chance back on a firmer track, EW at $9.50 and can figure in this…
BET: 3 units ew

BOLDINHO, JESTA DREAMA

Geelong, 7

Boldinho is in fine form, winning three straight for us, the last one three weeks ago at $9. On-pacer up to 1400m and capable of taking this out, even under his fourth different jockey in as many runs as $4.20 fav.

Jesta Dreamer hasn’t quite lifted to the good form early last year but he’s an outsider’s chance in this at $61, chuck him in your exotics.
BET: B 5 units ew, JD 3 units ew, exotics

BERMADEZ

Geelong, 8

He resumed with two seconds to Pascero this prep and looking like he’s back to his best with big finishes from the back, so the push out to 1700m looks suitable, and he’s 2:1-1 at this distance and 2 from 2 in this grade. McNeil sticks, and while this is a tidy contest, he’s sitting as $4.50 co-fav in an open betting race, EW easy…
BET: 5 units ew

IT’S MY TURN

Geelong, 9

Racing so well this time in, only missing win or place once in eight runs, albeit in lower grade racing. Pushes out to 1200m but if they cuddle her up in the run she can provide the value in this at $34…
BET: 3 units ew, exotics

POSSIBLY SO

Randwick, 1

Getting down in the weights now, and his second go at the mile. Made a little late headway 14 days ago here, Cavallo sticks, value at $26.
BET: 3 units ew

EXPLORING, FIRE

Randwick, 2

Exploring went in the book on New Year’s Day last year with a fine all-the-way win at Flem on debut. Has had a couple of breaks since then, but won two more then was scratched at the barrier before the last break with an injury. Comes back today after trialling up nicely, 2:2 first-up, looks ready to roll at $3.90.

Fire has also trialled well, and he too has nice stats for this, and will add some value at $10.
BET: Exploring 10 unit win, Fire 5 units ew, exotics

ANG POW

Randwick, 8

Top two in the market look hard to dislodge in this, but Ang Pow has done little wrong with a career record of 10:5-3. Stats up the yin yang, the Hippo hops onboard, and looks super value at $18…
BET: 5 units ew

POLYLITHIC

Ipswich, 1

Will need to be up on the pace over this 45 second dash for cash, if that’s the case he’s heading towards a win as $3.50 second fav in this small field…
BET: 8 unit win

FORTUNEER

Ipswich, 6

Scratched three times in the past week or so for various reasons and we’ve been waiting for her to re-appear after her smart debut win when well-supported at Doomben a month ago. Smart apprentice Emily Lang hops on, fancy them to take this out as $2.20 fav.
BET: 10 unit win

TURBEAU

Gawler, 1

Back from city racing, and can reverse placings with Magnetic Edge last time they met, $2 fav.
BET: 10 unit win

WHEELS, EAGLELOU

Gawler, 2

These two are around the $4.50 mark as joint second favs in this. Wheels is a get-back type and the extra distance should suit after a run of thirds, watch for her late. Eaglelou stepped up last time out after three runs back in the midfield, likes this track and will also be finishing on late.
BET: Tight betting event, both are win options (5 units), try the quinella, 8 units

MORE SUGAR

Gawler, 5

This looks ideal for our girl, finished well for second on resumption for second at Murwillumbah 14 days ago, and the stretch out to 1504m here definitely suits. She’s 2:2 second-up, Neindorf sticks, looks a race in two but Sugar looks sweet…
BET: 10 unit win
