A very nice winner for our fourth Hall of Famer in a week…
Four tips, one scratching, one winner and two seconds yesterday…
Kool Bird (4 units ew) was the star of the show, pushing on from the resuming second, and getting up for us at a juicy $11.00/$3.00.
Si Si Milano was a good thing beaten, just left it too late, he’ll win again, and Royal Fox (5 units ew) did his usual trick, descending late but a touch too late, the run second at $2.80.
Three tips from NZ, and thirty from Aussie today, all with commentary, let’s dive in!
NZ today…
More Than Words
Riccarton R3
Better in her last two runs here in the past month, will need to be closer in the run but an EW shot in this at $11.00
BET: 3 units ew
Cork
Riccarton R8
Found form leading all the way here 21 days ago for the win. Up in grade but down to the mile should suit, $5 on offer.
BET: 5 units ew
Kattegat
Wanganui R6
Resumes from a 168 day spell, good first-up record (3:1-1) and has trialled up recently so could be ready to roll, $10 makes her worth the EW shot.
BET: 4 units ew
Aussie today…
Matriarch Rose, Frumos
Caulfield R1
MR resumes from a 98 day spell after a nice finish to her last prep and has form first-up. Jaylah sticks and she rates a great bet in this at $7.50. Frumos has talent but needs to lift, $23 on offer.
BET: MR 5 units ew, Frumos 2 units ew
Mathew, Rudhyar
Caulfield R3
The jump to BM100 was too much for Mathew three weeks ago but won this grade before that and Nolen is back onboard, $5.50 second fav.
Rudhyar’s win 18 days ago at Ballarat was a nice effort, he’d been tracking that way and produced a nice finish under Johnny Allen but this is a step up, hence the $17.
BET: M 5 units ew, R 2 units ew
Recommendation, Marble Nine
Caulfield R5
Recommendation gave them a lesson in the Bletchingly under Shinn 35 days ago, outrageous stats, can’t see him beaten in this as $2.30 fav.
Marble Nine is no slouch either, can fill a place at $12 in this small field.
BET: R 10 unit win, MN to fill the exotics
Yaldi
Caulfield R6
Very cruisy win on debut back in April at Pukekohe before a nice third at Flemington in his first run in Aussie later that month. Resumes after 4 months, had a couple of nice trials, big jump in grade but EW at $23.
BET: 3 units ew
Cindy Falls
Caulfield R7
Another ex-Kiwi jumping in grade but Shinn sticks and she drops back to a more favourable 1200m. $26 chance.
BET: 3 units ew
Bankers Choice
Caulfield R8
A while since he’s saluted, needed the resuming run, will go better up to the 1700m and has decent second-up record. EW shot at $10.
BET: 3 units ew
Antino, Pinstriped, Aegon
Caulfield R9
Three from our book in the Memsie with Antino probably the best prospect of the three, resuming from a 77 day spell, rarely missing a place (17:10-3), $5 on offer. Pinstriped and Aegon sitting at $13 and $26, chance of making the frame.
BET: Antino 5 units ew, other two 2 units ew, exotics
Perspiration
Rosehill R6
Broke his maiden in April with a nice finish. This is harder on his return but not discarding, $26 in a small field.
BET: 5 unit win
Autumn Glow
Rosehill R7
Stunning win on debut at Rosehill two weeks ago, very smart filly going places, wins as $1.80 fav.
BET: 10 unit win
Briasa, Headwall, Sebonack
Rosehill R10
We’ve three in this one also, and they’re three of the top four in the book.
Briasa made in three from three in April before heading to the paddock, $2.90 fav. Next is Headwall is 8:4-4 and resumed with a huge run from the back to win by three lengths, sure to be in the finish, $4. Sebonack resumed with a fast finish for third 21 days ago, no form at the T&D or second up but back in grade, $7.
BET: Tough one this, hard to split the top two, so maybe 10 unit quinella, S to fill a place in the tri.
Baltic Coast
Doomben R2
The big grey resumed after a 90 day break, and at the turn you’d have thought he was done, but he powered home, and while the winner had stolen a march, BC had the rest covered nicely, paying $1.70 for the place. Certainly marked as a next-timer performance, especially up to the 1630m. $6 second fav in an open betting race, watch for him dropping in late, a must EW bet.
BET: 5 units ew
Compelling Truth
Doomben R5
Faded to fifth after winning four in a row by an accumulated 20 lengths and back in grade here can make amends as $3 second fav, will take some catching.
BET: 10 unit win
Markwell Dreamer
Doomben R7
Ran fifth to Headwall 17 days ago, back a touch in grade and could be the sleeper here at $16.
BET: 3 units ew
Fox Gem, Eaglelou
Morphettville R4
FG never got going two weeks ago here at the Parks but won his previous one, EW at $7. Eaglelou struggling to hit form, will need to improve, $12 shot.
BET: Both 3 units ew
He’s Our Bonneval
Morphettville R5
Back from metro racing and this is easier, in solid form and can win this at $5.50.
BET: 5 units ew
Sachem
Morphettville R7
Found form at last winning two on end this T&D with big finishes. Up a touch in grade but still a win chance in this at $5.
BET: 5 units ew
Storm De Lune
Kembla Grange R8
Throws the odd place in, going round at big odds, $34 shot.
BET: 2 units ew
Handshake
Warracknabeal R7
Ran nine times without missing the frame this time last year before a big spell. Not done a lot this prep in two runs but out to hos favoured distance, keep safe at $41…
BET: 3 units ew
Talk Time
Toowoomba R3
Can win from the front or the back, resumes with some great all-round stats, should win this as $1.95 fav.
BET: 10 unit win
Winston Blue
Toowoomba R4
Two recent thirds this prep have him going well at odds, $7.50, watch for him late…
BET: 3 units ew
Blazing Tycoon
Newman R5
Right out in the sticks for this one, small but open betting race, $6.
BET: 5 unit win
Desert Nymph
Belmont R8
Won her last two nicely, up a touch in grade and distance, $3.70 second fav, can win again.
BET: 6 unit win
