Moving right along…
A late scratching reduced us to three yesterday, but without any joy…
Big day of racing, including the Coolmore, the Victoria Derby and the Empire Rose on the programme at Flemington ahead of Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup.
We’ve got four from NZ and 23 from Aussie today, let’s see if we can fill those wallets ahead of Tuesday!!

A massive upset 22 days ago when he bounded out of the gates and was never headed as he got up for us at a massive $19! Very much a heavy surface horse, which he’s unlikely to find here, but you never know now he knows where the winning post is… $23 shot…

Won his only start on this track, but his form has been, well, not ideal… Interest only today at $26…

Mali Ston, Gospodin

These two sitting around the $21 mark, and both dropping somewhat in grade from three weeks ago. MS has placed here two from two and gets ACL onboard, never emerged from the pack in the Spring Classic and drops back hugely to the 1300m today, will need to be in touch to feature but worth an EW.
Gospodin ran a fast-finishing fifth and not that far off them in the Spring Sprint, and again, if he’s closer in the run he rates an EW shot.

Dominetta, I Am Velvet
Flemington R2
Dominetta’s win at Warwick Farm in late Sept was impressive, she showed a lot of grit when headed and rallied to win. Has won a trial since, then ran a close second 14 days ago in the G3 at Randwick. Great value at $11, keep safe.
IAV won her first three, she runs a bit green and has plenty to learn but no doubt she’s got talent, resumed 21 days ago at Caulfield with a close fourth, can improve on that today at $14.

1Up in grade but has won and placed at this level, just needs to lift to feature in this one at $71.

Has come back in great order with two massive finishes to win at Caulfield. Stats through the roof, Shinn is 4:4 onboard, hard to beat, $2.50 fav.

Switzerland, First Settler
Flemington R6
Switzerland produced a super finish to win by two lengths 21 days ago, JMac for Waller, $5.50, easy EW.
First Settler done very little wrong, three wins from four, the last with a huge late run here last month. This is a step up but hard to knock winning form, Micky Dee sticks, include at $18.

EC has been impeccable so far this prep with a 4:4-0 record. Drawn the carpark today, but shouldn’t matter too much over the 2500m, which he stretches out to today, $5 makes him an easy EW bet.
TW won two in a row in Sept, then a fifth at Rosehill 21 days ago. Up in grade and distance will be his biggest test, but he does get B Shinn onboard, keep safe at $21.

Tipped her as bound for bigger things last December when she strolled in at Sandown, and she’s continued on that path since, including a late run to win at MV 7 days ago, not an easy thing to do there, so she certainly has an engine. Up to G1 today, can’t see her no making the frame, $7 on offer.

Boomed home on debut here just over a year ago and has gone well since with another win in higher grade than this under B Egan before a close 11th of 12th down the straight at Flem. Resumed a month ago with a nice win at Bendigo before a fast-finishing second in the Alinghi 14 days ago, Billy sticks, $5.50 co-fav of three in a very open event.

SOA noted bolting home from near last in a Midway at Randwick a month ago with a fantastic sprint, Zac Lloyd stuck 10 days ago and he spanked ‘em again, so though up in grade, we’ll be sticking too, $5 on offer.
Watched IATE hand out a lesson and a beating a month ago at Doomben, where he led all the way and gave ‘em a bath by nearly 5 lengths. Back in grade and distance a touch, 15 days ago at Taree but he faded late, so EW best for him at $12.
