Two winners, three thirds, two fourths…
We’d been spruiking up Night Fighter (3 units ew) after he’d been knocking on the door earlier in the prep, plus the big finish 17days ago, and Jean Van Overmeire didn’t let us down with a beautifully rated ride to get up right on the line at $7.50/$2.25.
Baraqiel (5 units ew) got himself into a handy spot as we hoped and was able to slide up in the fence for a gritty win at $4.80/$1.80, with Barber (3 units ew) improving on his resuming fifth with a nice third paying $4 the place.
Antino was always going to be up against it with the two leaders in the market going head to head, and duly ran third.
Set The Sails (3 units ew) is very consistent, running another third today at $1.95, he’ll hit the right race soon…
Bringyaticket was well back and didn’t really give himself a chance, running fourth.

Finished fast for second at odds in March and followed up with two close finishes for fifth and second in April. Resumed from a 133 day break, and with Tina up top, we rated her a real chance, but at the final bend it didn’t seem likely as the front pair had scattered away, and Missoni was at least 15 lengths away. However, she knuckled down to produce a tremendous finished, and flashed past the tiring horses in front of her to win by over a length, truly amazing, watch the replay if you haven’t seen it! Tina sticks, extra 200m no problem, must follow as $6.50 second fav.

POA used the resuming run at Ruakaka as a warm-up, so best forget that run… Five wins from 8 runs at the distance, has won here and must rate a genuine chance at $15.
Mali Stone boomed home for second on his resumption in the Foxbridge, and is also well in contention at $8.50.
