Couple of nice winners…
Couple of winners yesterday, with Naval College (10 unit win) getting up in a thrilling finish to justify his $1.30 favouritism, and Wailua (8 unit win) dominating his race despite a betting drift out to $3.60.
A second for Oh No Mikki and a fourth for Desert Petard rounded the day out…
A huge day of racing in NZ today, with meetings at Ellerslie, Trentham and Riccarton, and a great testament to the upgrades at Ellerslie that they’ve attracted the likes of Jmac, Blake Shinn and Mark Zahra to travel across the ditch to ride here.

Six from six makes Crocetti awfully hard to back against, must be winning again as $1.30 fav. December didn’t have much luck in the Auckland Guineas and can flesh out the exotics at $41.

KL finally got win number 2 on resuming at Puke on New Year’s Day, she has talent and with Shinn up top can play a role at $15. Belclare turned in an improved run last time out, running a close second at Trentham and has won a trial since, chance at $18.

VELOCIOUS, POETIC CHAMPION

V got home at big odds on debut and followed that up with another win before unsuited by the heavy track at Puke 26 days ago. Jmac up top has her $3.40 fav. PC blew ‘em out the water on debut in October, and followed that up with a third and a second, the latter one at G2. Won a trial last week, can figure at $11.

TOKYO TYCOON, TALISKER, JUST AS SHARP

TT had health issues on Boxing Day, previous form superb and can bounce back here at $13. Talisker is a consistent type, Kennedy resumes and has won before, vale at $15. JAS had early good form but found out in the listed races, $51 shot here.
