Hmm…

A weird watch yesterday…

Badgeringdawitness (3 units ew) did his best, with Lisa trying to lead all the way as we suggested, just couldn’t quite hang on, but it was a brave effort to run second at $2.70 the place.

Firriato ran like a rocking horse, only getting going late to trundle into fourth, we expected more… Ditto Real Gun, never at home in the slop to run a poor last.

Brilliant Mind stalked the pace and powered away for an impressive win, with Bold Type a bold run for third.

OK, onto today, and a big day with The Grand Tour taking centre stage in NZ at Pukekohe, don’t forget NZTAB are offering Bonus Bets in the first six races. We’ve got 32 from the book today, let’s have a look, NZ first as usual, Aussie to come…

NZ today for the Grand Tour…

POETIC CHAMPION, VELOCIOUS

Pukekohe, 4

Here’s a good go to start us off, with four of the five runners winners on debut. PC simply blew ‘em out the water in early October with a 6.3 length win. Velocious was a big odds winner on her debut two weeks ago at Te Rapa, and the others bar one have similar tales. We’ll stick with PC as $2.70 co-fav, good race to kick-off our day!

BET: PC 10 unit win

JOHNY JOHNY

Pukekohe, 5

Gee, it’s all quality early on, look at the form in this race! Babylon Berlin will be odds-on to take this out, but we just love what Johny Johny has done for us, winning his last four on end, think he’ll spring out early and hang on over the shorter 1100m today, value at $5.

BET: What the hell, 10 unit win!

CINDY FALLS, POLYGON

Pukekohe, 6

Now it gets even trickier, with our two sitting right in the middle of this field at the $14 mark… We spruiked up CF 21 days ago at Tauranga back on the softer going she needs and she got up late at $11 for us, capable of repeating. Polygon was a multiple stakes winner last year, yet to find her feet this year but ran an improver’s race two weeks ago at Te Rapa, and she’ll also appreciate a bit of give in the ground.

BET: Back both 3 units ew, can spice up the exotics…

AROMATIC

Pukekohe, 8

Tried to pinch it here 18 days ago, but Aquacade nabbed her late, tend to think it might go the same way. $3.50 for our girl, does look like a race in two.

BET: 10 unit quinella with the two “A”s

DECEMBER

Wanganui, 2

Well-supported on debut three weeks ago at Tauranga, and boomed home to win with a leg in the air… Small field, $1.65 fav, can’t find anything to stop him from going 2 from 2…

BET: 10 unit win

GEE STRING

Wanganui, 4

Bit in and out but ran a nice third 13 days ago. Lisa hops onboard, worth an EW punt at $12 in an open event.

BET: 3 units ew

Aussie today…

THE BEST OF AUSSIE

FRUMOS, PROSCENIUM ARCH

Cranbourne, 3

Hot-pot fav in this small field will be hard to get past but our two could spice up exotics at $11 and $16.

BET: Exotics with the fav

HAARACAINE

Cranbourne, 4

He’s progressing through the grades very nicely and rates a chance under J Mott again today. Step up to 2500m shouldn’t be an issue, watch fro him late as a $7 shot…

BET: 5 units ew

LUNA CAT

Cranbourne, 5

Spaces her wins out a bit but drops in grade for this, another one to watch for late as an $8 shot.

BET: 3 units ew

SOCIAL CONSCIENCE

Cranbourne, 6

Up in grade and distance after a nice finish to win 15 days ago at Pak, EW chance at $8.

BET: 3 units ew

GREGOLIMO, CHANDON BURJ

Cranbourne, 7

Gregolimo has impressive results, only missing the frame twice in sixteen runs, about time he won if they can keep him straight at the finish. $3.60 fav here, down in grade, up to 2025m, should be winning this. CB is ultra-consistent, also down in grade and back up in distance, good EW value at $9.50.

BET: Gregolimo 10 unit win, CB 5 units ew, exotics

JIMMYSSTAR

Cranbourne, 10

Former Kiwi who was a joy to watch on his Aussie debut at Bendigo 24 days ago, bound for better things, wins this as $2.15 fav.

BET: 10 unit win

GOLD TRACKER, OAKEYS CHOICE

Kembla Grange, 2

GT up in grade but his win 8 days ago was astonishing, last to first, so worth an EW go at $26. OC rank outsider at $126.

BET: GT 3 units ew, OC 2 units ew

EYE PEA OH

Kembla Grange, 4

Late scratching yesterday to run in this, nice win a month back, worth a wager at $8.

BET: 5 unit win

RECOMMENDATION

Kembla Grange, 8

Very consistent, on-pacer, down in grade, not tested on heavy bit value at $9.50.

EN FRANCAIS

Morphettville, 4

Another consistent mare, overdue a win, race in two here as $2.40 second fav.

BET: 5 unit win

MIDNIGHT IN TOKYO, TWICE ON SUNDAY

Doomben, 5

MIT finally got home for us last time out, $1.90 fav to repeat and looks the winner. TOS generally not far off, $10 on offer.

BET: MIT 10 unit win, TOS 2 units ew, exotics

SEIRYU

Toowoomba, 6

Closing in on a win after two thirds, here’s her chance as $3 fav.

BET: 10 unit win

Inverell, 6

Run #144, $8 shot today…

BET: 3 units ew

MISS INTENTION

Ascot, 1

Today’s sleeper at $41…

Ascot, 8

Waller/Barry head west, drawn poorly but must rate a chance in this at $6 after her last win 14 days ago at Rosehill.
