A nice winner…
We were bang-on with Rioyuki (8 unit win) yesterday, back in grade, suitable distance, good second up stats and Mertens a key booking. Once again she was a drifter in the betting, but got up in a blanket finish at a very nice $5.90/$2.00.
Huge day of racing, with two meetings in NZ and thirteen in Aus, the big race of the day of course being the Underwood, where we think we’ve found one to beat hot fav Alligator Blood…

He been keeping flash company in recent races and drops back significantly here. Previous form was sound, punters say it’s a race in two, we’ll stick with our lad as $3.30 second fav.

Noted bolting in for his only win in July last year. Mixing his form a bit, does drop in grade here and Jasmine is up top, so maybe a place for his today at $11 in a very open betting race.

LM has been in good form on resumption and is building to win, and gets his chance here as $4.00 fav, looks hard to beat. Cork has been going well too and looks well-placed as third fav at $6.
BET: Can back both 5 units ew if you jump on quick, exotics for sure.

Has been in good form but this is his biggest test to date. EW at $14.

Spruiked FA up to win last month and he duly obliged, descending late to win comfortably. Back to his best and rates as $3.40 fav. Goldman is ex-Kiwi who won four in a row for us last year. Resumed 14 days ago at MV needing the run, second-up stats decent, EW shot here at $9.
BET: FA a 5 units ew bet, 10 unit win of the money comes. Goldman 3 units ew, Exotics.
WITHOUT A FIGHT, SOULCOMBE, SMOKIN’ ROMANS

A competitive field for the Underwood, with Alligator Blood leading the book. He’s $5 second fav, and looks an easy EW bet.
Soulcombe got up for us at $22 on resumption and must rate on that, $8 on offer here.
Smokin’ Romans also resumes,but this could be a bridge too far. Has won for us at good odds previously.

Supported on resumption 17 days ago and finished superbly to get home for us on the Kenso. Jye jumps on and though up in grade, can place here as a $13 shot.

UK import who’s gone well in Aus, should have won at Caulfield last time out and can make amends here as $2.30 fav. Pereille is the danger, race in two.

Rarely far away and building to a win. Dom sticks, and she’s second fav here at $3.80, can win it.

Back from a 6 month spell, only missed the frame once in 11 starts in the G2 last start. Back in grade, good first-up stats, had a good recent hit-out and will be finishing fast, and if you get on early, backable EW at $5.
