We’re back baby!!
Back with a bang yesterday…
A total débâcle at the gates saw three horses scratched after the race, but that didn’t stop Cool Encounter as we got it bang on, with the rise to the mile saw him power home for the win (10 unit win at $3), and anchor the late qadi for us…
And our other tip for the day, Gorush Lightning (4 units ew) duplicated the huge finish, just failing by a neck to overhaul the $15 winner, running second at $3.90 the place. Couple of more strides, and we’d have had 50% of the $2250 tri (or better!)
We have 31 from the book today, with lots of winning chances!!

We spruiked BDW after a previous poor run and he duly obliged at Awapuni two weeks ago at $8. Up in grade but worth a pop at $8 again… Kusuda did nothing last time put after a promising fourth at Wanganui previously. Doesn’t mind the heavy, and is an EW sot at $14.

Back from a long spell, has shown promise previously and a recent trial would have sharpened him up. Drops in grade, EW at $10.

TFL has come home well in his resuming two runs, and has run his best on heavy (4 from 6), so could be ready for this today as a $7 shot.

Was having his first run back from HK here three weeks back, and just got nutted on the line as a $7 shot. Marked very definitely as a next-timer, and should win this based on that form as long as it’s not bottomless up there… $4.20/$1.90 on offer on 365 makes him eminently backable EW

Genuine stayer, has run two thirds for us and looks poised to figure in this over the 2600m. Will be flashing home late, backable EW at $4.50/$1.80 co-fav, but as above, take a win and a place for the Bonus Back option…

Some good ‘uns in this, but CFC has won his last two for us and may offer some value in a tight betting race at $5.50. Cotel ran second to him last time out, and worth an EW shot at $19.

Other open race, and DB has been the model of consistency this time in, and rates a show up in grade at $15. Bermadez’s form has tailed off, interest only at $34.
