Scant reward for our efforts yesterday with two fourth placings, but back to Saturday racing, where we tipped five winners last week, including a $23 shot…

ZZ in fine form this prep, $3.20 fav here, loves the track and the heavy, back in grade, can win this. The other two have shown some form this prep, and at around the $10 mark can fill the exotics.

Resumes after a 5 month break, form last time was very good, but the 1200m likely to be a bit short for him, suggesting he’s using this as a tune-up.

Consistent ex-HK gelding, a profile I really like, who’s done well since returning to NZ. Got too far back over the shorter distance here two weeks ago, but back up to the 140mm and McNab up top appeals greatly, $4.50 on offer. Having said than, keep an eye on Wandering Apache, also ex-HK…

Crocetti has been dynamite in his two runs to date, winning by 3.5 and 4.5 lengths, the second one here two weeks ago. Looks a race in two with Group 2 winner Trobriand, who returns from a 5 month spell here. Very little separates them in the betting, squat quinella for me.

Yet another ex-HK runner, he’s gone two good runs this prep with a couple of thirds, Ryan Elliot sticking today, and he rates a nice EW chance in this at $10.
