Followed by a $38 Hall of Famer!!

Two BOOMSHANKAS!! in a row!

Thursday we tipped you Remus, and he romped home at $41, and yesterday we did it again with Sky Lab reproducing his old G1 form after trialling up nicely to descend on them late in the piece at a staggering $38.50/$8.30 to take out the Scone Cup in a blanket finish!!

We also anchored him top take out the trifecta, and were rewarded with a juicy $3K dividend!

Six from NZ and 24 from Aussie gives us a nice round 30 tips from the book today, let’s kick off with NZ, Aussie to follow…

Six of the best from NZ today…

Gospodin

Te Rapa R5

He was in good form this time last year, but his form fell away a touch towards the end of last year. Resumes from a 196 day break, has good T&Ds and is particularly effective on heavy tracks (11:7-1), though hasn’t won first-up. Worth keeping safe at $16.

BET: 3 units ew

Cindy Falls

Te Rapa R7

Big drifter when resuming 21 days ago, and while we thought she’d need the run and the 1300m was a bit short, she flew home and put them away at $14.90. Jockey is 2 from 2 onboard and sticks today, the push out to 1400m suits and she’s had some success at this track. Good heavy form, good EW shot at $7 in this.

BET: 4 units ew

Shameless Boy

Trentham R3

Followed up his gritty debut win at Otaki with an all-the-way win at New Plymouth a month later before heading to the paddock. Won’t mind the wet track, gets M Cameron up top and looks a sound EW bet at $6.50 in an open betting event.

BET: 5 units ew

Tikemyson

Trentham R4

Taking his time clearing maidens but last two runs have seen him two very close thirds, and Lisa sticks. Looks close to a win, EW at $5.50.

BET: 5 units ew

Free Spirit

Trentham R6

She returned from a 6 month break last month after finishing last prep with a couple of runs down the track, however, her previous form had been superb through the middle of last year, with three wins and a second from four runs, one of them at $17 for us. Came out at Wanganui 9 days ago and rattled home form the back at $23 to run a very tidy fifth, so the slight rise to 2200m should suit. Kate sticks, fitter now, and worth an EW punt at $8.

BET: 4 units ew

Enrico

Trentham R7

Good T&D stats and will handle the going. He’s won a couple of times at odds for us and is always competitive. Tougher for him today but picking he’ll be thereabouts, making the $34 very juicy!

Best of Aussie

Puketiro

Flemington R3

Kiwi mare with five wins from eight starts, went in the book with a huge finish from the back at Tauranga under Opie. Next two up in grade were OK before spelling, then resumed again under Opie late March at Ellerslie and getting up for us. Debuted in Aus here under Coffey a month ago but never fired a shot. Worth another chance, especially if she can handle the Flem straight, $10 on offer…

BET: 4 units ew

Joyful Fortune

Flemington R7

He’s back from a huge 562 day spell in the paddock but has trialled up well. Unbeaten on the track, 4:3-1 first-up but would be a training coup if he can win this but Maher knows his stuff, so EW at $8.50 is an easy punt.

BET: 5 units ew

Pondalowie

Flemington R10

Pondalowie led and won on debut in September then went on a break. Resumed in Feb with a fifth and a third, then dominated this T&D 23 days ago, getting home at $8.50 for us… Up in grade but based on that last run, she’s a very viable EW bet at $6.50.

BET: 5 units ew

Baltic Coast

Scone R4

Had flown home twice this prep for a third and a fourth before heading to Open class, running eleventh but not far away. Back in grade and up to the mile 17 days ago and flew home for second. Gibbons has now placed 6 times from 10 up top. Slight;y up in grade, but with his potential big finish, the rise to 1700m could be significant. EW shot at $11.

BET: 4 units ew

Jimmysstar

Scone R9

Brilliant start to his Aussie career with three straight wins, but has cost punters plenty next three, beaten at odds-on each time. Drops back to the 1100m where he’s 2:2, so giving him another chance as $3.80 second fav.

BET: 7 unit win

Indifference

Scone R10

On-pacer who won three on the bounce late last year before a close third then off to the paddock. Returns today after 129 days away, back to the 1100m, not a bad idea for a frontrunner… Reckon he’s better than the $41 on offer, value punt for us…

BET: 3 units ew

Ang Pow

Doomben R2

Still convinced this fella’s got a win in him, his ear;ly career form was excellent. Ran an improved race last time at Eagle Farm for second, likes this distance and can run a place or better here today at $26.

BET: 3 units ew

Miraval Rose

Doomben R3

Only failure in her five runs to date was last time in the heavy going at Randwick six weeks ago in a G3. Trialled up with a second there three weeks ago, looks a great value EW bet at $6.50.

BET: 5 units ew

Regal Lion

Doomben R4

Latest two runs for second suggest he’s running into form, and another one worth EW attention at $7.

BET: 3 units ew

Gringotts, Desert Icon

Doomben R5

Two from two this prep, 3 from last 4 wins for Kiwi Gringotts, gets J Kah up top, hard to beat as $2.20 fav. Desert Icon resumes, might need the run after 224 days away, could fill a place…

BET: GG 10 unit win, DI 2 units ew

Parisal, Enterprise Pomme, Blue Spinel

Doomben R7

Fav in Parisal looks very hard to knock off here and is hard to back against as $2.90 fav. However, our two, sitting around the $15 mark really offer some value, especially filling places…

BET: Parisal 10 unit win, other two 3 units ew, exotics with fav to win

Deep Stream

Echuca R1

We had been waiting for him to re-surface since October when he debuted at Wingatui, spruiked and backed and screamed home from last of 14 to run fifth. Popped up over at Bendigo in December, drifted in the betting and ran last of eight before heading to the paddock for 4 months. Resumed three weeks ago at Ballarat, where he looked like he needed the run, so prepared to give him an EW shot in this at $21.

BET: 3 units ew

Seiryu

Toowoomba R2

Big drifter resuming but still ran a nice third. Very consistent mare, does get back a bit but has a good finish. Up a touch in grade here but still a good EW bet at $10.

BET: 3 units ew

Wango Award

Belmont R5

Resumes from a six month break but does have good first and second-up form. Tough test for her, but gets Pikey up top, he’s 5:0-4, so presents as a decent EW bet at $12.

BET: 3 units ew

Saloon Bar

Belmont R9

Fav is 4:4 in her career, G3 winner, gets Pikey up top and looks hard to beat as $2.30 fav. Saloon Bar has been a touch disappointing last two runs, but looks the one to take advantage if the fav’s not ready. $7 on offer.
