Four in the frame from nine yesterday, all striking the woodwork…
Glentaneous ran second ($1.70), with thirds from Bold Type ($3.00), Tantrums ($2.50), and Bringyaticket ($1.20).

Tauranga, 4
We waited a while for her to hit winning form after her winning debut, but she has redeemed herself with two wins from three this prep, with the failure coming in the G2 Westbury in Jan. Now she’s got the idea she’ll be hard to stop here, will be finishing hard late, $3.90 fav, worth the Bonus Bet.

AQUILIFER
Tauranga, 5
Returned to winning form on resuming last month before a tidy third at Taupo 8 days ago. Jasmine sticks, can bounce back in this small but open betting field at $4.60.
BET: 6 unit win
ENRICO
Trentham, 3
Two good runs for a third and a win followed by a fail at Otaki when up in this grade. Marginal chance at $41, back in distance.

KATTEGAT, TESTIFY ME
Trentham, 4
Fav looks hard to beat chasing a five-timer. Kattegat has only missed first four once in eight runs, and the run for second at SP $20 21 days ago had merit. Up in grade and distance will be the challenge but she rates an EW chance at $5.50. TM was a close up second here a week ago and is also up in class and distance and can also feature.
BET: Both 3 units ew, include in wider exotics with top two.
IDYLLIC
Trentham, 5
Rises in class but nice stats all round, and very consistent, the $18 looks very generous and she can get a piece of this.

TOKYO TYCOON
Trentham, 7
Early form impeccable but not the same this prep, though he has run behind some class horses this time in. Back in grade and distance, has won at G3, and can certainly take the Guineas out, $10 on offer.

Caulfield, 1
Good contest to kick off the day at Caulfield, a small but competitive affair, with Mankayan second fav at $4.80. Has been consistent this prep, running Dunkel to less than a lengths three weeks ago at the T&D. Can beat this fav.

GENERAL BEAU
Caulfield, 4
Just the one win in his last 20 runs but a very solid placegetter. Back from a 4 month break, finds form early, great T&Ds and Kah is 6:4-1 up top, $3.90 fav in a tight, competitive field, time he won again!

PEACE TREATY
Caulfield, 7
Blew ‘em away late December to make it 3 wins from 4, Kah up top too, wins at $2…

Back from some G1 racing last term, does have some nice stats but will need to be closer in the run against this lot. $23 on offer…

Rosehill, 8
NZ bred mare who won her first six on the spin under Jonny Allen before a fourth in a G1 in April 2 years ago. Headed to the paddock and didn’t return for another 21 months until Boxing Day and after two runs under Harry Coffey, Jonny Allen back was back on top here 35 days ago where she dominated proceedings and won nicely. Wouldn’t want it too wet, but she’s drawn the ace and could well give them something to catch, the $15 makes her our value bet of the day…

Massively open event with less than a dollar between the first four in the market. TOS, better on heavy footing, like this distance, and worth EW at $10 here.

STAR OF CHAOS, TARA JASMINE
Eagle Farm, 9
SOC back from a 5 month lay-off and was going well prior. Maybe a touch sharp for her but has won at this distance, trialled up last month, goes well at the track and jockey is 2:1-1 up top. EW at $8.50.
TJ’s recent form has fallen right away, no surprise she’s $81…

Two and a half years since he won, resumed 19 days ago at Thangool with an eighth, unlikely here at $31.

Couple of decent runs last prep for us, resumed 14 days ago with a fifth at GC. Down in grade in a small field but likely to find this a bit tough at $15.

Haven’t fully discarded him as a $26 shot, his form prior to this prep was excellent. Ran third in a trial last week at Randwick, sneaky feeling he can feature today.
