Bounce!

We bounced back nicely yesterday with a winner, three seconds and a third from our eight runners, but once again, it was a painful watch, with Lurch yet again getting way too far back to have any effect on the race, maybe he just doesn’t have the early pace, but the extra distance yesterday should have assisted, but C Dell couldn’t get him into the race till it was all over, and he ran a disappointing seventh of eight, albeit only a couple of lengths off the winner…

However, more success with a gritty win from Mr Vivaci. McNeil got him into a handy spot from the awkward draw, he hit front 200m out and held on well from a couple of late challenges, a nice win for us at $5.

Sapphire’s Son ran a much-improved race, just edged out of second but paying $4.50 the place.

Not often we see Blake Shinn make the trek out to Darwin, but he’s on Zourata, the $2.30 fav, who backs up from a disappointing run here on Saturday, so the intent is there. Strangely enough, his usual jockey is Dakota-Lee Gillett, who is replaced by Shinn today, but we have a horse called Dakota Lee running in this race, who has an incredible 12 win from 12 runs on the sand at Alice Springs, but start for the first time here today. Small field, but will make for a very interesting race…
