Boomshanka Mark 2!!
Three from the book yesterday produced a late scratching, a winning return and a boomer placegetter!
Flying Finch (5 units ew) was back from a 5 month spell in the dash for cash, and as we suggested, they raced him closer to the pace, and the young apprentice unleashed him at the right time, getting up for us at a very nice $5.40/$2.00. We also anchored him to win the trifecta, which paid a whopping $4600 in Aussie, so the 25% of that was a very ice bonus!
We’d gone with an EW trixie with our three tips, so when Frankie’s Me Dad was scratched, it was all down to our $126 shot (yes, that’s right) to try and bring home the bacon.
Ex-Kiwi Tantrums hadn’t shown much form since her Aussie debut last January, but managed to run a brave second for us paying $19.40 the place.
Who else is tipping $126 chances?!
Still made for a very nice return, though the win would have been worth another $6K, but hey, we’re happy!!
It’s a one-hit wonder today, and she’s at big odds!

Noted almost exactly a year ago running a big second to the very decent Let’s Sea and followed up with a win three weeks later before a couple of last placings sent her to the paddock for 9 months, obviously with an issue… Back today, and back to the BM58, and won a trial in September. Hasn’t shown much in the two runs back since then, though not far off. Yendall jumps onto the fav, but if she’s gained any benefit from those two runs, she can run a place or better today as an $18 shot in what is not a very strong field.
