Five out of eight…
Our eight from the book yesterday produced a winner, a second, two thirds, a fourth and a quinella.
Point Nepean (8 unit win) has highly spruiked up on his return from a 10 month break, debuting over hurdles, and duly obliged at $2.25. Wilewink completed the quinella (10 units), paying $1.80, and our other tip Auf Wiedersehen ran third.
Lord Darci (3 units ew) ran a bold race, he finished well behind the winner but held on nicely for second paying $2.80.
Sir Boo (5 units ew) was second-up and despite his super track form was pretty loose in the betting. He walked out of the gates and was a conspicuous last until the final bend, where we watched him weave through the field to run a length and a neck behind the winner, paying $4.30. Definitely on the radar for next time, just needs to sort out his poor gate exit and maybe go over a little further…
Shore To Happen was also slow out of the gates, something we were concerned with, but couldn’t quite get there as he ran fourth, another one to watch next time…

Been running in the picnics recently, with a second and a win in a couple of small fields, so must rate a chance in this at $10.

Noted with a fast finish when blocked for a run last August but hasn’t gone on with it. Does have good T&Ds for this and has form on heavy, $23 on offer.

The one win in thirty runs doesn’t look like great form but he flew home for second a year ago at the Bool, but hasn’t backed it up, however, he gets back on heavy going second-up, so worth an EW at $151.

Sacred Kiwi, Moscow Red

SK is progressing well this prep, his run this T&D 20 days ago for third was solid and he’s ready to take the next step here as $7 shot.
MR is a 10 year old veteran mare, nearly two years since she won but she throws in the odd place and this is her distance. Usually pozzies up in the middle of the pack, can make a place if she saves something up for the finish, $23 shot.
BET: SK 5 units ew, MR 2 units ew, exotics would be interesting…
