We’re really on a roll now!!
FOUR winners yesterday from our 12 tips, plus a second, third and fourth…
Tina C got us started in style, jumping back onboard More Than Words (10 unit win) and got home by a nose at $3.80.
Shortly after, Effortkat (6 unit win) sneaked through on the fence to put away a small field at $4.70. The Real Gun got out in front as he predicted, and gave nothing a chance as he bolted home at $4.10.
And over at Tamworth, Russley Crown (4 units ew) also gave them something to chase, and they couldn’t catch him as he hit the Hall of Fame at $10.20/$3.50. Sting Jet was a drifter in the betting, but screamed home late for third, as usual, paying $3.80. We suggested exotics, and if you included the well-backed Rapbidash, the tri paid a juicy $519. Russley Crown helped boost the qadi to $2882, and we gratefully grabbed a share of that!
In addition, Ramones (5 units ew) found some support in betting, but couldn’t quite hold out the winner, running second at $2.20, while Saloon Bar was another huge finisher, but couldn’t quite get there, but running a fourth and earning a next-time sticker…
Not a bad weekend including Friday, total of 12 winners, 10 seconds, 7 thirds and 3 fourths from 47 tips, that’s a massive 25.5 % winners and 68% of tips paying a divided!
Not bad for a $1 a day…

ALF’S MAGIC
Coffs Harbour, 7
Won his first three races with some style, though his subsequent form has hardly lived up to that promising career start… He has been prominent from the front in three runs this prep, including a second last time out on the heavy 36 days ago a Murwillumbah, so the conditions today shouldn’t faze him. Up to the 1200m where’s won twice, these don’t look too smart, so we rate him a good vale EW shot here at $14…

NAMAZU
Mackay, 5
Went in the book last July when he ran ‘em ragged here and was solid in his next four before heading to the paddock. Resumes after 170 days with two trials under his belt and Ashley Butler up top, who rides today. Loves the track (5:2-2) and this class (5:3-1) and has place 4 from 8 first-up. Drops back to the 1300m, but he generally races on the pace, so we’re picking he’ll been ready after the two trials, $5.50 on offer.

CAPITAL GIRL
Mackay, 6
She tends to get back in the run but does have a good finish in her. Strung together 4 wins from 5 runs back in Sept/Oct at this level before a couple of ordinary efforts up in grade. Resumed 16 days ago at Rocky a long last of six, obviously needing the run, so will need to bring some second-up form (4:0-2) in order to feature here at $51…

COUTURE
Orange, 7
Couture was a big winner for us ($15) at Coonamble in Nov 22, and she followed up with a couple of decent runs for placings in the higher grade before spelling for 10 months. Just the one run last prep at big odds in October before another 3 month break, and has run twice this prep, making her last three runs 9-9-9. Hardly seems likely on that score, and the $126 would certainly propel her into the Hall of Fame, but she has shown glimpses of talent in the past, but she’ll need every bit o=if it today as the outsider in this…
