Sapporo returns after a 6 month spell. Lightly-raced and won well when clearing maidens 18 months ago, supported in betting today as $6.50 third fav,maybe EW. SM also cleared maidens at his second attempt but done little since. $19 shot.

Riverton RC, 3
Has won for us previously but going well enough now, hence she’s the $23 outsider.

JOLTIN’ JOE
Sandown, 3
Better a week ago with a fourth at Sale in a higher grade at $41, so don’t discard here, even as a $31 outsider. Won his only run here, and back up to the 1200m will suit this back-marker, good jockey and ground stats too.

PROSCENIUM ARCH
Sandown, 4
Caught the eye on debut with an all-the-way win and ran well up in grade next two. Has had two runs this prep and should be fitter for this as a $9 shot.

Last two have been in higher grade, and was in fine form prior. Back to BM70 he presents as a $10 shot here, and should be competitive.

Back after 6 months in the paddock, has been running in G1-G3 races. Has been gelded in the interim has his recent jumpouts have been good. Worth EW at $12.

RM got up at $13 for us with a well-timed run here 12 days ago and worth an EW punt here at $15. TI has been gagging for a start, either been scratched or down for abandoned meetings recently and was in good form prior to the break. Won a Gosford trial recently, and has nice stats for this, especially first up. $31 looks generous…
