Another of our long-standing blackbookers broke his long-standing barren streak with a dominant win. Scenic Rim (3 units ew) never looked like losing when he hit the front, paying $5.40/$1.70.
Winston Blue (3 units ew) continued his decent recent form with a second at $2.00, while Mombasa (3 units ew), ran a fast-finishing third from last, paying $1.80 the place, and earning a next-time flag from us…
Zeefa Zed and Magnetic Prince both ran fourth…
Nine again today, a big card at Timaru with 11 races… let’s load up for the weekend!!

Noted running second in a G2 to Trobriand on NY Day then just did OK next two. Resumed from a six month lay-off late August to dominate at Riccy as fav for an easy win. Surely too good for this lot as $2.40 fav…

Ordinary ride from Kylie back in Jan when he flew home for third but made up fr it two later winning here as odds-on fav. Back from a 3 month break, first-up stats are good, doesn’t want it too wet, but good EW bet as $5.50 second fav in an open betting race.

Nice win from the front for us three back, he won’t mind the wet track and gets a key jockey change with Tina up top which makes him a real sleeper in this at $21.

FS blitzed ‘em back in early Jan at around this grade before some just OK runs further up in class. Back to this today after 6 months away, he’s 7: 2-2 first up and that winning jock from Jan returns, solid EW bet at $6.50. Tydeus has run two ND thirds in small fields recently, not sure that’ll be enough here, EW at $11.

Morphettville, 5
She was ordinary on resuming but better last time running a close third at $15 for us. All her form has been on dry tracks, which she gets today, so EW at $7 is the go.

Taree, 8
She’s got blistering speed and showed it when winning first up at big odds for us in July. Subsequent two runs didn’t come up to that, but good stats all round and can make amends here as $10 shot.

BOLD TYPE, TARA JASMINE
Townsville, 3
These two present as $6 shots. BT resumed after almost a year away to run a close fifth, and has the stats to figure here, Wiggins up top is a positive. TJ is a backmarker whose recent form over longer has been a bit plain, so not sure why she’s dropping back to the 1000m here in the small field.
